I apologize if this has been answered because I asked it before. Scream Factory, is there a chance we could get a Collector's Edition of COMA (1978) starring Genevičve Bujold and Michael Douglas?
I love those 'hospital horrors' films. Even though this is more of a drama/thriller.

I'm just happy we're getting something in November and the rumors of nothing being announced turned out to be untrue. If there were months that I'd prefer be light its November and December anyways as we'll have a bunch of sales to look forward to and Christmas shopping is always pricey for me anyways. I'd love a full slate of announcements but I'm ok with 1 or two if that's all we get.

Is The Relic the OOP 1997 movie? Or is it the new Relic movie from IFC that came out this year?

It says Relic (no “The”) and it’s only $17.99. It has to be the new IFC movie.

I guess but nothing of something for me is still nothing. At this point Im not a collector anymore, I keep what I keep on the shelf tight to only my favorite rewatchers. So I get lucky every once in a great while looking for only certain titles. Patience is what I have to have as the announcements come and go.

I hear you and pretty much agree. Arrow has been nothing but a steady string of busts for me these last few months but I'm happy to see them continuing to announce titles. Seeing new announcements gives us all something to talk/cheer/complain about which keeps the boards busy and keeps me happy as it gives me something to focus on. No announcements usually translates to few if any comments here which is a downer in and of itself. I may not love some of these announcements, but I know there are folks that do, and so I'm hopeful that their passion will translate to forum activity which in and of itself keeps me entertained and happy.

I hope it’s actually “The Relic” and not the current “Relic” (which I’m checking out at my local drive in tomorrow). It might be a cool flick, but I’d much prefer a silly creature feature on Blu from SF.

Same with me with Arrow but The Last Starfighter was a rare winner announcement for me. I held off buying the old release knowing it would get some love eventually.

If “Brides of Dracula” is happening
(and the Target link indicates a Sept date, but that may be wrong)
then I am very excited.

That film will make for a good year from Shout/Scream Factory.

Big fan of this one. Still have the old snap case DVD. Holding out for a nice transfer and extras.

Hospitals are scary places, so horror movies set in hospitals are very effective. One of my biggest fears is being taken against my will to some hospital where someone performs experiments on me while I'm strapped to a cold metal table

Coma is a good enough thriller to qualify for a Criterion release but, yeah, I'd take any upgrade over what we currently have. Also, I can't stand to look at the awful photoshopped cover. There's a great poster for this already available - why they chose that garbage for a cover is beyond me.

Shout is really starting to baffle me lately, even though they’ve been my favorite label. They have access to more studio content than any other label and that slate is the best they can do?

I agree. Its been awhile since ive been excited by an Arrow Video title but its always great to see a label continue to put stuff out on a steady basis.

I unfortunately have some first hand experience with hospital horror, so I agree, the subgenre is incredibly effective. As silly as something like HOSPITAL MASSACRE (aka X-RAY) is, it still gives me the heebie-jeebies. The idea that she goes in for routine test result and quickly finds herself held against her will for “further testing” is pure nightmare fuel. I actually haven’t seen COMA. I should (hesitantly) give it a watch.

The only thing that interests me for November is Brides of Dracula, but I'm fine with a lighter month. I've been playing catch up on my purchases all year, which is fine with me because I always seem to have something new to watch. But it gives me a chance to pick up something else I may have overlooked in the past.

With all of the out of print announcements that have been made recently, I've been going through their back catalog, looking for titles that seem interesting that I may have overlooked. I recently picked up Blood and Lace (Diabolik still has a few copies, along with some of the other out-of-print titles, if anyone is interested), The House that Screamed, Grave of the Vampire, and the Count Yorga movies. I also tracked down some of the other out of print titles that I regretfully didn't pick up when I had the chance, such as the Blacula, Destroyer/Edge of Sanity, and Murders in the Rue Morgue/Dunwich Horror double features. Scream Factory releases so many titles that it's easy for me to overlook something I had never heard of only to discover it later.

I've also said this about Arrow in another thread: one of the other reasons (besides COVID-related issues) Scream Factory may be having "light" months may have something to do with work on their huge Friday the 13th set consuming most of their time and energy, not to mention money. In Arrow's case, that gargantuan Gamera set, by the looks of it, took a LOT of time to plan and execute. That was just released, plus they have the Graveyard of Honor set coming next month. Arrow and Shout may be taking breaks and going "light" in the months ahead, which is perfectly understandable. We'll just have to get our fix from the myriad other labels still kicking strong, like VS. I think VS will make up for others' shortcomings this Fall.
