Interestingly enough this is a title that I'd have interest in and one that I'd wager would likely sell better than some of there other recent offerings as this one actually has a bit of notoriety and name recognition.

Everything floats down here. A title like that certainly isn't beneath me.

Sure, I wouldn't mind owning it either but ultimately it's not up to us. Just how long have we been waiting for Lemora, for example? It sucks but it is what it is.

It's actually not a terrible movie. Its not good either, but the performances are fun, but I'm a John Saxon fan so I'm biased.

Has anyone experienced any issues making a Paypal payment to Shout Factory. I Have funds in my Paypal account however I'm getting this message;

Funding Instrument In The PayPal Account Was Declined By The Processor Or Bank, Or It Can't Be Used For This Payment

Had this happen b4 where somehow paypal switched to paying directly from my bank account and not my debit. Bank kept declining for no reason, switched back to debit, no problem.

Had the same message, took me awhile to figure it out. In my case, my phone number with Paypal was different than what my account was on Shout's website. Changed it on Shout to match Paypal and then it went through.

Do Shout titles ever go out OOP and come back later? Do licenses expire and get renewed ever? Or do titles usually just end up somewhere else?

1. Rarely, but yes. Examples include Deathstalker/Deathstalker II, and Vincent Price Volume 1.

2. Not that I am aware of no. Typically when titles go out of print and then come back, it's because a licensing issue caused the title to go out of print earlier than Scream Factory planned. In other cases SF own the rights and issued only a small number initially (Deathstalker double feature) and decided that a repress would likely still prove profitable.

3. Some titles have popped up elsewhere in the US after the license has expired (Terror Train, the upcoming Mad Max release, in some cases the studio that owns the rights have released their own editions) but most have not seen additional releases. More likely however is that a Region B release of these films has materialized.

Does anyone know if the Universal Horror Collections always come with a slip? I'm looking to get volume 1, but would like to know in advance if possible

Yes! Good question. I wondered the same thing because Amazon has Volume 1 listed without a slip...however when I ordered it back in January it, in fact, arrived in its slipcover.

I have all of these collections (minus Volume 5) and they all have an official slip that comes with the set!

Been waiting four or five years for Lemora after Synapse Film revealed they were working on a new scan, and now they have no plans to release the film. That really does suck.

On the bright side, that DVD is one of the better-looking discs ever produced. The transfer was state-of-the-art for its time. I dug my copy out of storage and put it back on the shelf - if anyone ever decides to pick it up for an HD upgrade I'll be there.

I guess that's what I'm going to do as well, as I still have the DVD from when it first came out. I still think it's a beautiful horror movie and such a shame that an HD scan was reportedly well into progress only to be shelved now. I'll just remain hopeful someone else picks it up for release.

Speaking of, thanks again for the tip on the VP Col 3. Amazon shipped it late last night/earlier than expected so I guess they did indeed get one more allocation.

I am super pumped that Vincent Price Vol 1 is getting re-released as I missed the boat on this first time around!

Already pre-ordered direct through Shout/Scream...

I understand there were intros by Vincent Price himself that were present on the first release that are (due to rights issues) not included on the re-release - but that doesn't bother me in the least...I have wanted both Witchfinder General and The Abominable Dr. Phibes on Blu for a while! I can't wait!

Yeah that was a release I had passed on years ago due to so much other stuff I was wanting/needing at the time so I was glad to see it return as well. I have it pre-ordered on Amazon and also picked up VP vol 3 recently as well. Just needing to find vol. 2 now. I had passed on the later volumes for similar reasons and because I had heard that the 1st volume was the best. I had picked up an import copy of Witchfinder General in the meantime however and liked it well enough so hopefully one day I'll find an affordable copy of volume 2 to complete the collection.

The VP films have never been a priority for me (except for witchfinder General) so these purchases are always at the mercy of what else is being released as far as how much priority I give them.

Yes, unlike their Collector's Editions for individual films, where the slips are only guaranteed for three months usually, the slipboxes for their collections such as Universal Horror are permanent.

Same. And I can't remember them at the moment, but Scream did say they were adding a few new features to the re-release to try to make up for the missing VP intros.
