Haha you're fine. It was funny.

I've mentioned several times to Scream but I guess it won't hurt to reiterate.....COMA (1978) is a huge favorite medical thriller of mine. I have the WB Blu-ray but the cover art is abysmal and I know Scream would give it a new scan with amazing packaging.

Yeah it was the best I could come up with that early in the morning

I'd also love to see a new scan for COMA - Scream has a lot of blu rays going out of print, so hoping this means they'll expand their library.

Finished Thirteen Ghosts. Solid movie still. I remembering renting and buying the DVD and watching it a lot with my sister. Great extras too. I thought I heard this was an old HD transfer but I thought it looked pretty solid.

Yeah it’s an old transfer but that transfer still holds up

I'll add to the chorus clamoring for a new scan of COMA, and add that - like 1989's DEAD CALM - a proper supplements-laden SE of this title is long overdue. COMA is a clever thriller anchored by a terrific performance from the ever-underrated Genevieve Bujold...and the scene with those hanging comatose bodies is superbly macabre and disturbing, one of the more indelible images from '70s horror for me.

I'm curious to see that interview with composer John Beal recently announced for TERROR IN THE AISLES - He did a lot of work on various TV shows I grew up with, and I've long been an admirer of his score for Tobe Hooper's THE FUNHOUSE.

Are the transfers the same with Scream's Child's Play and the copy in the 7 movie collection set?

Speaking of Dead Calm, I wonder if it would be possible to restore the original ending for an alternate cut. When I first saw the film a couple years ago I loved it except for the final bit, which I read was studio-mandated to give a more conclusive ending. It sounded like the film was shot and completed and then that little coda was just tacked on later, so I'm curious if it'd be possible to easily remove it and go back to the ending the filmmakers originally had.

I've also picked up two of my favorite Steven Seagal flicks unavailable in the US: Fire Down Below and On Deadly Ground. We need a kickass Seagal collection already.

On another note, I ordered Tales From the Darkside and Deathsport from Shout on 8/15 and they still have not shipped. Last time I order anything that's not exclusive direct from them
I ordered Urban Legend, Urban Legend 2, and Sleepaway Camp...I received Urban Legend 2 right away, however, it took weeks to get the other two...

I pre-ordered Friday the 13th, so, i'm not sure how pre-orders go...Would someone who has pre-ordered with them recently let me know how they usually ship it? Especially with the poster and litho?

Dead Calm would be a great SF release. I haven't seen it since it first arrived on VHS...

The poster and litho come rolled in a sturdy tube, which is house inside of a larger box that has stiff-ish Shout Factory branded butcher paper placed in it between/around the movie. USUALLY this does a pretty good job of keeping the movie itself from bouncing around too much in the shipping box.

But, my last few like that where single flics like THIRTEEN GHOSTS and TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE.

No idea if it's similar/the same for boxed sets. Especially since I believe this one will be their largest yet.

The shipping times can definitely vary! Once the COVID situatuon really started spreading, the reduced staff meant some pre-orders went out earlier than others. Niw with all the new challenges the postal service is dealing with....who knows?

My pre-orders of Shout's GLENGARRY and WELLVILLE discs in Spring both arrived 2 weeks or more BEFORE street date.

My THIRTEEN GHOSTS was shipped over 2 weeks early, but sat at the first post office for well over a week, and so didn't get to me until the day before street.

My TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE had a shipping notification generated over 2 weeks early. Sat in "label created" status for almost a week (which can mean either it hasn't left yet OR the tracking sucks and won't change til day of delivery) and then still ended up arriving a little over a week early.

So...we'll see how things go between the popularity of this set, staffing, and what USPS is like by late September. :/

Been looking to round out my Hooper collection, which means upgrading my Poltergeist DVD (even though I firmly believe he was just a guest on the Spielberg show.)

I just don't want to spring for an ancient, 12-year old VC-1 transfer if there's even a chance that we can see a fresh scan from somebody. The controversial backstory make an extras-packed edition frustratingly difficult, but I'd welcome an uptick in A/V presentation.

What do we think about Scream's chances of landing this, and is anybody willing to defend the current WB disc? Nice enough to just grab, or at this stage of the game is it worth continuing to wait?

At this point, I have strong doubts that it would be available to Shout! Factory, but I think there's a fair chance that WB releases a UHD over the next few years or so.

I agree. I actually think Scream would go for Poltergeist, but I can't see WB licencing it to them.

By contrast, I highly doubt Scream would even attempt to go for something like Twilight Zone: The Movie even if it was available to them.

I don't own many Warner UHDs - what's the overall consensus of their quality? Among the best? Middle of the road? So-so? Mixed?

I ordered Valentine and Urban Legend direct from Shout and both came with slipcovers. I wasn't expecting that considering both releases are well over a year old at this point.

My Urban Legend came without a slip, and I JUST ordered Valentine, so, we will see...
