Probably some of the StudioCanal ones only. Prince of Darkness and The Fog are likely (I think Prince of Darkness is a dead certainty,) but Scream already lost the rights to Escape from New York and the other titles are from studios that do not license UHD rights.

Pencil me in for the plain Jane edition of They Live, sans the vinyl, poster, or collectible.

Space is the issue...

I would be fine with this if i was buying a PS5 this year. Not getting one until next year so i would prefer a bluray release.

Then again i doubt PS5 will have dual HDMI either way.

No, I don't remember much about Trick ' Treat - that's normal for movies that don't make an impression.
You like Creepshow better than Trick 'r Treat, that's fine...mine is a fairly controversial take given the former's status as, you said, a classic.

That said, you're not really doing yourself any favors shortchanging Dougherty's film when it's enormously popular, critically respected and without peer when it comes to the "best horror anthology since Creepshow".

Simply that the person guilty of uttering this quote cannot accuse another of trolling; as far as controversy goes, yours is a far more dubious and irreverent statement.

I was watching the host segments from the They Live Monstervision episode with Piper from 1998 and he had some really great stories to tell on this one: apparently Keith David is a trained and award winning dancer, the fist fight scene was originally five minutes longer, Carpenter wanted him to be more political when promoting the film but Piper refused because he was a fan of Reagan, etc.

Luckily this comes with both the UHD and a remastered Blu-ray. So you can purchase this to watch upon release and then view the UHD when you get that PS5 next year!

I think including the blu is a non-negotiable with UHD releases now. If they want people to adopt the format, include the blu. The curiosity will get them to get a 4K player or a newer gaming system, which only helps physical media. It's pretty simple. Unfortunately, Arrow did not follow this road, but I am super happy that Shout did and also did with The Deer Hunter. Folks, pick up this release, as we want Shout to release more 4K goodies in the future. This is probably there barometer as to how well a 4K will sell.

I considered a PS5. Honestly though, I don't play video games much anymore. Not enough to justify a $500 blu ray player which it would essentially be lol

The combo packs really seemed to work for Blu-ray.

I know no one cares, but just for those of you scoring at home, I've returned to this thread after swearing it off during a heated skirmish about 80's nostalgia, which was pretty much a here today, gone tomorrow message board conflict anyway. So just for the record, I'm back, sadder but wiser, as I continue to have my love/hate relationship with Scream Factory.

This post falls squarely in the former as I am ecstatic over my purchase of ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS. It's true I had to go for it kicking and screaming about the price, but the old adage of buying a single sublime title for a lot of money, as opposed to ten middling ones for cheap, definitely applies. If anyone is on the fence for this title, I heartily recommend getting in on the action before it's OOP. The movie is a lot of fun with superb repeat value, especially as the back end of a double feature with a group of friends. And the Blu is wonderful.

Well maybe. As I said I don’t think the PS5 will have dual HDMI so I would still need to get a player if I want to use my surround setup. I think there are adapters/splitters for this?

I don’t like that honestly. People don’t want to be forced to buy new products. It cost more for UHD also. It isn’t a simple “oh look an UHD disc, let me go buy a brand new tv and UHD player.” A lot want to keep buying separate blurays. 1080p still looks fantastic as can be(as long the studio does their job correctly. With UHD versions lately the bluray suffers and isn’t as good as it’s suppose to look. I feared this with the independent labels. But that’s for another discussion) Both bluray and UHD need the sales to keep these formats going. It isn’t one or the other this time.

I don’t see how making bluray owners buy the 4K combo pack helps with UHD market share. All that does is artificially increase sales as there’s no guarantee those people will buy a UHD player much less a 4K tv.

Understandable. Yeah it makes no sense to spend that much just for the player when there are cheaper ones out there. I play tons of games so the 4K player is a bonus for me.
