Yeah, but these type of sets make the most amount of money around Halloween time. If they are working on a set which I think might be likely at this point, it will come out around this time if it's next year or the following year.

Good point about box sets (see The Omen, Amityville, Larry Fessenden, [REC] and Vincent Price sets). Same reason they've saved some of their biggest titles/releases for September/October:

Nightbreed
The Thing
Carrie
Child's Play
Creepshow
Army of Darkness
Halloween II/III
Exorcist III
Trick r' Treat
The Blob
John Carpenter's Vampires

Help me understand why Scream Factory is targeting November with a release in October. Choosing the 13th of October as a wink to the franchise makes sense. Winking at November the 13th doesn't make sense to me if they're releasing it a month prior.

They chose October because it's a big seller for horror.

Going by their past deluxe box set releases;

Halloween Collection - September 23 2014
Amityville Horror Trilogy - October 1 2013
It's Alive Trilogy - May 15 2018
[REC] Collection - September 25 2018
Critters Collection - November 27 2018
The Omen Deluxe Collection - October 22 2019
The Fly Collection - December 10 2019

I honestly can't say there's a pattern. Releasing a Elm Street set near next Halloween would just be logical business practice but I don't think it's fair to say it couldn't come out any time of the year.
If there's any pattern then it would be a box set released before Halloween and another released after Halloween but before the end of the year (REC/Critters, Omen/Fly). But we're not getting any more boxed sets this year.

If you took all of Scream's box sets, most of them have been released between September and December, with an obvious eye on the Halloween and Christmas buying windows.

It's Alive had a lower RRP than most of the rest, so I can understand that one getting a release outside of this window.

It's simple. October 13 (because its the 13th) but it gives people plenty of time to buy and receive their sets in time to watch it on November 13th. If they were to release it in November 13th, there will be plenty of people who don't get it in time, and it defeats the whole purpose....

It's the same reason why the new consoles are getting released in November. Sony and microsoft know these will be on everybody's Christmas lists, so them being released in November gives them plenty of time to buy them.

Going to add to my post but in this one instead. I'd rather Shout work on ANoES set properly and not rush it. Would this probable set have its own bonus disc? Hoping it won't be a DVD but a BD, of course. Most likely 10-Discs, if it includes Freddy versus Jason, the Remake, and a bonus disc. All the Robert Englund entries remastered and the newer re-encoded.

An ANOES is soarly needed. If shout put as 1/2 the effort in a new night mare boxset as they did on the F13 boxset. A nightmare set would probably easily outsell the F13 and Halloween set. This is a no brained for shout unless there are legal issues that can be a problem.

Dunno about outselling but I figure it'd meet expecations. Only legal issues I might 'see' is if they'd want to include remastered Freddy's Nightmares with the set. Think I already mentioned wanting the original cinematic audio in lossless. Should remove the Never Sleep Again heavily truncated version from the first film as that should be with itself. More concerned about if The Nightmare on Elm Street Encyclopedia disc, with Labyrinth, could be replicated or not for the bonus disc. Majority seem to be on the current BDs though. Audio commentaries? Yes please.
This seems entirely different compared to both the Halloween and F13 sets. Similar too though. Get the feeling if I buy the two earlier DVD and BD sets, this'll have an official announcement next year.

Mine was supposed to be delivered Thursday before 9pm. I have to work at 4 so I just paid UPS $8 for guaranteed delivery between 10am and 12pm. Don’t want to risk this getting snatched from my porch.

Any word on if it was Shout that got Career Opportunities now that we know it wasn't Kino?

Personally, I think there's a stronger likelihood of Warner upgrading ANOES1 to UHD, than there is of them licensing the entire series to Shout! Factory.

I don't think it would outsell them. Halloween had never had a complete set before, and Friday the 13th's only other complete set has been OOP for years, whereas Elm Street's complete set has been readily available for years. Not to mention that Halloween (thanks to the last film) and Friday the 13th are the two highest grossing slasher franchises.

That said, Freddy is just as iconic as Jason or Michael, and a Scream Factory release of the franchise would do well; I'd gladly get a copy to keep right with my Halloween and Friday the 13th sets.

Truthfully, I see this being more likely. But who knows at this point?

Probably either Shout or Arrow.

It'd be nice if Scream announced whatever they have planned for January over the next couple of days, because if they wait until next week you have to think the line-up is going to leak via Amazon or (more likely on recent form) Target.

Then again, this has happened the last 3 months now, so is it something they really care about?

They have to know that retailers will start putting up preorders once they have the basic information (title, UPC codes, etc) so I'm guessing they don't really care if the titles leak. I think, generally, the boutique labels that used to do teasers are probably over it and don't take as many precautions to keep announcements under wraps. Arrow doesn't even bother making it a challenge to guess anymore (the jet ski clue for Waterworld was too obvious).

The Friday the 13th fever is going to run out eventually so, yes, they need to start announcing again.

I wonder if there's a chance Scream could release Spider? They've already done two of Cronenberg's films (with a rumoured third with Dead Zone), so why not another?
Has Scream dealt with Sony before? They take their sweet time releasing certain films.

The Fly. Of course. Totally forgot about the collection. And since Scream has dealt with Sony before then I hope they aim for Spider.
