I kinda want to get a read on this. What do you plan to do with your collector's editions of They Live and Prince of Darkness when you get the 4K sets of those titles? Get rid of them? Keep both? Or what?

I have a hard time parting with older Scream Collector's Editions. In most cases, I'll keep them as a second copy in my collection. I did that with several of the steelbook remasters that I've replaced recently.

Same goes for steelbook editions that get upgraded to 4k... I keep those around too. It's okay for a collector to have more than one edition methinks...

I end up giving the Blu-Ray to my parents, there the ones that got me into Horror movies in the first place and that way they get to enjoy it in their collection instead of me selling it off (which would feel weird for Scream Factory discs to me).

I turn them into shops that resell them. I sometimes get cash, but usually store credit which goes to more movies.

Warner by way of 1986 Turner acquisition. It's right at the cut-off point for MGM titles that are now Warner properties vs. titles that are currently MGM/UA properties.

With the steelbook remasters from Scream I just took the discs and put them in the regular/collector's editions, because in most cases I didn't like the steelbook designs. But I agree with not parting with the older CEs, I made the mistake of doing that with Halloween 2 & 3 when the boxset arrived. At the same time, my OCD kicks in when I see two of the same title on my shelves, lol. I'm odd like that.

My OCD must be in an advanced stage. All my movies are in the ‘aftermarket’ two-disc clear cases. New edition/4K go in the case with the old edition. Original artwork goes on the displayable side. It’s a little convoluted but my mind doesn’t go insane when I look at my shelves.

FYI- Best Buy should have at least a couple copies of the 2 UHD releases next week. My store got in 3 of each.

Your method is a logical one. I do wonder if the 4Ks will have slips as well.

When will April's lineup be up? I guess we shouldn't expect anything but who knows...

This is me. I never bit on the steelbook re-releases, but I still have my DVDs w/ slips for all of Scream's earliest collector's editions, including They Live and Prince of Darkness. I will never get rid of them.

They said not to expect much until May. Hoping for quite a few new announcements next month.

What's stopping Shout from at the very least revealing some of the planned titles now? They could really use some momentum. Australian label Imprint recently announced Breakdown, and Fire In the Sky is already on it's way to me from Diabolik so that's 2 Paramount titles I won't be double dipping for if Shout picks them up. They're losing to the Australians

This is something I agree with. While it's fine that they are taking a little break, it would be nice to build up some word of mouth early. We usually would get that with the SDCC line up, so I think it couldn't hurt to do that now.

This is a company that regularly lets Amazon listings spoil their announcements.

They simply aren't that proactive. Never have been.

I'm still waiting for them to officially announce The Dead Zone.

You've been gone too long. Shout made a deal with Paramount last year for a handful of titles. The Keep is out of reach thanks to Michael Mann.

I'm just hoping next month will be worth the wait.

Could you imagine if Shout! announced a full time deal with Disney or even expanded the Paramount deal to include Miramax titles!?

Yeah, I'm pretty excited to see what they have in store for us next month.
