I would love these titles too but I would be surprised if Shout was interested in them, at least at what Lionsgate would charge.

I hope Scream was able to solve whatever element issues Stepfather II and III had. It would be great to have those in HD.

Yes, they do. If it's true that Scream made a deal with Lionsgate, that would be incredible. Yes there are the titles that we'd all grab (Alligator) but as a die-hard Anthony Perkins fan, I know there are two films he made toward the very end of his life that LG have in their clutches.

Daughter of Darkness from 1990 co-starring Mia Sara and directed by Stuart Gordon. Also, a Psycho-ish mystery/thriller A Demon in my View from '92. I realize I'm in the minority here but I'd loooooove for Scream to put these out, even if it's only a bare bones double feature.

Apparently Alligator is no longer with Lionsgate. A few members haven't it, and that it's with the producers now. Hopefully somebody gives this a release this year and uses the original poster art.

Yeah, I watched his YouTube video today and he hinted that Alligator was coming. He also said (and I’m paraphrasing here) that some big titles are coming that only a few of the studios could afford to acquire and release.

I checked the main page, and "The Final Terror" is listed as OOP, but it can be listed as back in print, I searched it on Shout's site, and it's for sale, and you can get it on Amazon

The Mothman Prophecies, The Deep (Collector's Edition), Breakdown(!), Fire In the Sky...all from Imprint. Are Imprint the new Shout Factory? Time will tell. They're a bit pricey but some of these are highly requested titles long unavailable in North America. Can't wait for Breakdown.

It's pretty disappointing to me that Paramount has reneged on licensing. It's admirable that they suddenly want to release their library themselves, but realistically they're not going to make a significant dent in it. They simply have too many titles to ever work their way through all of them. They really need to be licensing to Scream + one other label to make the kind of progress we would all like to see.

The titles you mentioned would be great options to license to Scream, along with Sleepy Hollow, Dead Again, What Lies Beneath, Flesh and Bone, etc.

Honestly though there would be even more value in a deal with Kino or (ugh) Criterion because they have so many bona fide non-horror classics from the 50s through the 80s that labels like these would jump at the chance to scoop up that are likely to never be released from Paramount themselves.

Oh wow. I need to find this video. What exactly did he say about Alligator? We really need this bad boy on Blu-ray.

Actually found the video.

When someone puts a comment that says "Alligator needs a Blu-ray release" he simply says "I might know something about that". That gives me some hope, but nothing truly concrete.

I do wonder what the "Big" titles are that are coming out in the US. I'm guessing Dawn of the Dead might be one.

If we're not talking WB (SF) or Universal (probably Arrow) double-dips, I'd consider the following to be 'big' horror titles (either long OOP or unreleased):

Dawn of the Dead
Martin
The Hitcher
Near Dark
Fright Night: Part 2
Alligator
Deadly Friend
The Keep (hugely unlikely)
The 3 Peter Jackson early films

Of course, aside from Deadly Friend and The Keep most of these aren't with the major studios and have proved elusive, so I imagine large sums of money will have to change hands (and that only really leaves Kino, Shout and Arrow, unless Criterion come to the party).

I'd buy all of those. Pretty sure the three early Peter Jackson films are coming from Arrow. While not for sure, Alligator is probably coming from either VS or Scream as it seems like he might "know" something. I wouldn't be surprised if Criterion or Scream release Dawn and Martin at some point. The Hitcher, Near Dark, and Fright Night II we can always hope.

I'm also hoping Cemetery Man's legal issues were finally resolved and this comes out in 2021.

I'm sure we'll get something from this list for sure.

If I was a betting man I would say I'd put money on Alligator, early Jackson, and Deadly Friend. Dawn would be my most wanted of them though.

Also, while not as big as the rest of those, really want Stepfather II and III (especially II)
