With the announcement of Joe Dante's Explorers on the Select line, make that in for five.

Super expensive month but I'm in for all 5! Hell, I may even grab that new modern film.

Seems as though all of these will have new HD masters!

WOW, day one for KING KONG '76. FINALLY!!! I'm actually shocked that it took 15 yrs to come to blu-ray!

But definitely worth the wait considering we're getting a Collector's Edition with the TV footage. THANK YOU, SHOUT FACTORY!!!

If this sells well, I hope Shout will release the 1986 sequel King Kong Lives. It definitely doesn't measure up to KK '76, but it would be nice to have both.

And addressing the post from someone that had some insider info of a title Shout was getting ready to announce with the cryptic word "carpet" as a clue...

It could be the scene when Kong is captured and brought to NY to be exploited by Petrox in that sideshow.

When they recreate the sacrifice scene with Dwan, they roll out a red carpet leading from the concourse and up the stairs to the sacrificial altar.

I just bought Eyes of a Stranger on DVD a few weeks ago because I was tired of waiting for a BD. It was worth it! Day One for all of these.

Wondering now what other Paramount titles Scream may have, given we saw a couple knocked off the list today. The list isn't that big now, but there remain some heavy hitters on there (stuff like Young Sherlock Holmes, Breakdown and A Simple Plan might be more suited to Shout Select):

The Naked Jungle

Blood and Roses (probably still legal issues holding up a release)
The Vulture
The Penthouse

The Possession of Joel Delaney (this would have been available to Olive and Kino, and I can't imagine either of them willingly passing on it; supposedly there are no usable HD elements, which would explain it)
The Horror At 37,000 Feet (TV)
The Shadow of Chikara (probably no longer with Paramount)
Bloodline

The Keep (no chance)

The Langoliers (TV)
Rumpelstiltskin
Night of the Demons 3
A Simple Plan

The Gift
The Ring Two
The Loved Ones

As for realistic double-dips:

Vampire in Brooklyn (probably unlikely)
The Warriors (I suspect Paramount will re-issue this themselves in due course)
Congo
The Ring

Blood and Roses (probably still legal issues holding up a release)
Lady in a Cage

No Way to Treat a Lady
Targets

Unman, Wittering and Zigo

The Shadow of Chikara (probably no longer with Paramount)
Bloodline

Dragonslayer
Mommie Dearest
Fighting Back (music rights issues have long held up a DVD/Blu-ray release)
The Keep (highly unlikely)
Young Sherlock Holmes (Paramount will probably release this themselves)

The Temp
The Langoliers (TV)
Fire in the Sky
Rumpelstiltskin
Night of the Demons 3
Ghost and the Darkness
Breakdown
Switchback
A Simple Plan

Bless the Child
The Gift
What Lies Beneath
Domestic Disturbance
Red Eye
The Ring Two
The Loved Ones

As for realistic double-dips:

The Dead Zone (apparently likely)
Vampire in Brooklyn (probably less likely)
The Warriors (I suspect Paramount will re-issue this themselves in due course)
Congo
The Relic
The Ring
We need The Langoliers in glorious HD.

BarnDoor, you need to add Dead Again and Sleepy Hollow to your list.

I'm in for all four.

Scream Factory is getting their game face back and going for my wallet again after a few months break.

I see Paramount holding on to Sleepy Hollow, but I'll add it just in case.

Probably right. I think it's more likely they release No Way To Treat A Lady, also.

That's the trouble with Paramount. Given the random nature of their releases it's impossible to know what they'll choose to put out themselves and what they might have licenced to SF and Criterion.

While not Scream news, it looks like Shout is now releasing Warner films on the Shout Select line, which is also amazing news. Maybe we'll get Telefon on Blu-ray finally or Prince of the City.

Really glad they are back. I'm in for 3 of 4, no interest in the Kong remake personally. I'm fine with the original and the Peter Jackson one.
