Does Shout charge for pre orders when they ship or immediately?

To me the Peter Jackson King Kong was the perfect example that if you give a talented director a blank check they will screw up a movie. Most directors work best when they have to stretch their dollars.

The constant doomposting was the worst. All because they took a few months of reduced releases during a pandemic that's ****ing everything up. I'm laughing at the people who "had written Scream Factory off".

When Worlds Collide
The Naked Jungle
Conquest of Space
I Married a Monster from Outer Space

Blood and Roses (probably still legal issues holding up a release)
Lady in a Cage
The Vulture
The Penthouse
No Way to Treat a Lady
Targets

Unman, Wittering and Zigo
The Possession of Joel Delaney (this would have been available to Olive and Kino, and I can't imagine either of them willingly passing on it; supposedly there are no usable HD elements, which would explain it)
The Horror At 37,000 Feet (TV)
Lipstick
The Shadow of Chikara (probably no longer with Paramount)
Bloodline

Dragonslayer
Mommie Dearest
Fighting Back (music rights issues have long held up a DVD/Blu-ray release)
The Keep (highly unlikely)
Young Sherlock Holmes (Paramount will probably release this themselves)

Dead Again
The Temp
The Langoliers (TV)
Fire in the Sky
Rumpelstiltskin
Night of the Demons 3
The Ghost and the Darkness
Breakdown
Switchback
A Simple Plan

Bless the Child
The Gift
What Lies Beneath
Domestic Disturbance
Red Eye
The Ring Two
The Loved Ones

As for realistic double-dips:

The Dead Zone (apparently likely)
Vampire in Brooklyn (probably less likely)
The Warriors (I suspect Paramount will re-issue this themselves in due course)
Congo
The Relic
Sleepy Hollow
The Ring
Since they've worked with Friedkin before, "Jade" should be on the list, too, but I think that one might be more of a "Shout Select" title.

Happy things are back up and running, the more the merrier. I really dont have any interest in the horror titles this time but in for Explorers. Good list, I just have specific tastes these days.

I am ecstatic that He Knows You're Alone is coming to Blu-ray finally. I figured Scream would eventually come through with it--glad it's them and not Warner Archive, who are less likely to stack it with features.

All we need is Dr. Giggles and we will have the whole Twisted Terrors box set that Warner Brothers put out on DVD back in the day on blu-ray. I know that Dr. Giggles was on blu-ray but its out of print.

Relax, there was no avalanche of griping going on. Most people saw Shout's post that they were coming back strong in the Spring may have just been goofing off. The few who are living under rocks or don't use social media as often as the Kardashians are the ones who may have said something. I only recall one post from someone who declared Shout dead but they may have been jesting. If they weren't, well, now they have egg on their face.

Not only did Shout! come back with some strong releases, they announced a whole slew of them including the Shout Select line.

Have they ever announced 4 Shout Select releases at the same time?

In order of preference:

King Kong (1933)
King Kong (1976)
Kong: Skull Island
King Kong (2005)

I have fond memories of seeing King Kong (1976) on television all of the time around about the late 1970s/early 1980s. It's got some silliness, but it's also pretty great. The Jessica Lange introduction scene for the win.

Wheres the best place to order Scream Factory titles in Canada? Is it unobstructed View or will Sunrise carry them? I used to order from Amazon but the slip covers always came with a dent plus I'd rather support local.

Looks like Shout might be releasing special editions of some Laika films.

If Shout is releasing Warner titles on the Shout select line, I hope they'll consider BEYOND THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE and WHEN TIME RAN OUT...

They're the only remaining Irwin Allen disaster movies yet to be released on blu-ray. And when both premiered on network TV in the early 80's both had roughly 30 mins of cut footage inserted to pad out the extended runtime.

Shout seems interested in not only giving fans theatrical cuts, but also alternate extended TV versions (Earthquake, King Kong).

So, if they can wrestle these two titles from Warner...

Or AIRPORT '77 and AIRPORT '79-THE CONCORDE from Universal. Two more with extended TV versions.

Although I believe the extra footage for these were shot specifically for their TV premieres and weren't part of their original filming so that footage would most likely be 4:3 and not 2.35 and 1.85. But still great to have nonetheless!

Someone would need to make a deal with Entertainment One?:

Quote:
In 1999, JVC transferred Largo's film acquisition assets to JVC Entertainment, a film subsidiary for the Japanese market, and shut down its foreign sales operation.Largo's film library was acquired by InterMedia in 2001.

As of 2012, Intermedia's library was owned by Ron Tutor and David Bergstein. InterMedia had at some point became IM Global.

In June 2016, Tang Media Partners acquired majority ownership of IM Global.

In 2017, Tang Media Partners rebranded IM Global, Open Road Films and IM Global TV as Global Road Entertainment.

In 2018, Global Road filed for bankruptcy.

Until March 2021, Open Road Films, LLC (formerly Global Road Entertainment from 2017 to 2018), a former subsidiary of Raven Capital Management, continued to release films through all film labels.

On March 12, 2021, Open Road will be bought by Hasbro through Entertainment One for $87.5 million pending court approval
We need these to be re-released properly:

Point Break (1991)
The Super (1991)
Unlawful Entry (1992)
Dr. Giggles (1992)
The Getaway (1994)
TimeCop (1994)

Glad to see that they’re still releasing Warner Brothers titles!

This gives me hope that we’ll eventually get Collector’s Editions of:

Alone in the Dark (1982)
Wes Craven’s Deadly Friend
Deep Blue Sea
Dr. Giggles
Gremlins 2: The New Batch
House of Wax (2005)
Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III

Still hoping for an announcement of the reissue of the Vincent Price Collection Volume II, which would be a day one pre-order. Hopefully Volume I sold well enough to justify it...
