I'll have my Criterion flash sale order delivered before I even get a shipping notification from SF. I think Code Red shipped faster. Not like I didn't know this and I still ordered so I'll live with it.

I am, but this is not unusual for SF. I think they only keep a limited amount of stock on hand (which makes perfect business sense) so if they sell more than what's on their shelves you have to wait until they get more copies pressed. Usually the wait's not more than a few weeks but there were a couple of times it took them a month or more to ship "in print" discs to me. I just know not to get in a hurry when ordering direct from SF.

Rolling Thunder is back too. Basically my entire 3 last "get em before they go OOP" orders are back now, sans Species 3/4 and Phantom of the Opera 89. That's why I just buy what I want, just in case.

Finally got a shipping notification for my sale titles. Got nervous for a brief moment after I saw "Sold Out" over a greyed-out image of one of the titles, Scorchy. I thought it was a notification that they couldn't fulfill the title. I was prepared to accept the consequences of waiting for a sale, though

My VDay sale purchase from 2/9 shipped Monday (2/22) and arrived today.

Twice Dead and the Terror Within twofer arrived last Saturday.

I'm not convinced part 3 ever actually went out of print. It was announced as such, disappeared very briefly and then popped back up on Amazon where it has remained for sale for months. Volume 2 however disappeared and has never popped back up. Seeing as how volume 2 has films licensed from both MGM and Fox, I don't expect that we'll ever see this one again.


So both editions of Ninja III are available at Shout's website again. Neither has the same "In Print" banner that Vincent Price Vol. 3 does and the collectors edition is priced better than the original edition. I'm curious if these titles are actually back in print or if Shout was simply able to obtain permission to clear out old inventory. It makes no sense at all to have both editions of Ninja III for sale when the better edition is cheaper. Furthermore The Town that Dreaded Sundown still includes the DVD of The Evictors but "The Evictors" blu ray is still out of print. This Again seems to imply that Shout is being allowed to sell off old stock but likely won't be pressing more. For now I've updated post #1 to reflect that these are not out of print, but I have my doubts that these will be getting more pressings.

Why would being mgm mean they don't come back into print? Volume 1 and 3 VP collections are all mgm movies. There's this weird notion floating around here that Shout/Scream won't work with mgm movies anymore, all because a bunch of older films they put out had their licenses lapse. They still have a bunch of mgm movies in print and have put out stuff from them still.

It was expected that MGM wouldn't license or renew licenses if they were trying to sell their library. With the news that Kino has a bunch of titles however that sale may no longer be happening.

As for why I think Vol. 2 of the price sets won't be reissued... The MGM sale certainly didn't help, but the bigger issue is that Disney now owns the Fox catalog so in order to rerelease that set they'd need Disney's permission and that seems unlikely.
