It was expected that MGM wouldn't license or renew licenses if they were trying to sell their library. With the news that Kino has a bunch of titles however that sale may no longer be happening.

As for why I think Vol. 2 of the price sets won't be reissued... The MGM sale certainly didn't help, but the bigger issue is that Disney now owns the Fox catalog so in order to rerelease that set they'd need Disney's permission and that seems unlikely.
I agree that return of the fly may be an issue. It is included in their fly boxset, but maybe that's a separate license. I just don't think mgm is an issue. It may be the pbs intro that messed with volume 1. I suspect they will reissue it without the pbs stuff and probably return of the fly. Since they redid the first set with new bonus features and a new 4k scan for masque and have put volume 3 back in print, I imagine their trying to get 2 back. Maybe a new film to replace fly. Maybe the Bat? I'd be nice to have another way to have that one without buying a bdr. It is public domain afterall.

You know...I've never watched Ninja III, and I have little to no interest in it. After seeing that clip, and checking out the site review, it is now on my must own list.

Lol. I haven't seen it since the '80s, but I remember it being a hoot.

Part of me wishes SF would give The House On Haunted Hill & Witchfinder General their own separate releases since I'm not really interested any of the other films in the VPC sets.
I would be concerned for the collectors of the VPC sets if they have too keep re-buying them everytime SF does a re-release and has to change a individual film due to licensing just so they could get that new film! SF should just then do a Vol.4 instead of having multiple different reissues of all 3 sets....

You couldn't be more wrong. It and Breakin' are the two best movies of 1984. Fact, not opinion.

Lucinda Dickey dominated 1984 and managed to top both of the above movies with Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. When Ice-T tells you in the trailer that it is "another good one from Cannon", you better believe it!

I'm sure someone will pick up Tank Girl and possibly give it a needed new scan (the MGM HD master on top of Shout's early encoding issues isn't a pretty sight).

Deadly Eyes (a Golden Harvest production) is with Fortune Star, who Shout no longer has a licence deal with. I imagine whoever else makes a package deal with Fortune Star might pick that one up but it depends.

It was a very well known film and was sold in Wal-mart stores, they likely had 10,000 of the things made up and are still clearing out stock from that initial batch. It's in 2300 member collections on this site alone. I'm sure it sold well.

It's an amazing film. It starts with a ninja massacre, the cause of which is never wholly explained, it has the world's sleaziest cop as the male romantic interest, it mixes possession, aerobics and videogames with all the ninj-ing. Lucinda Dickey was my childhood crush when I saw this movie (yeah, folks were pretty lax about what we kids watched, so long as it didn't have a lot of nudity).

I wish scream would release more in 4K as Day would look fantastic. It would look beautiful next to my Dawn set in 4K.

I'm pretty sure Ninja III is something my dad rented at the video store back in the day but I honestly don't remember it. Watching that trailer my memory was NOT jogged, which means I never did watch it, but now I HAVE TO watch it That trailer was all kinds of awesome.

Ninja III is essential. No one should be deprived of its greatness... especially cult film fans, there's a little something for everyone.

Oh..and Lucinda Dickey

Well, Ninja III CE is still available and dropped $2 to $13.95....Shout Factory received a few bucks from me this morning for these that recently came back in stock:

Couldn't pass them up at the prices of $13.95 - $15.95 each. I realize they may have been cheaper in the past, but having missed them previously, I'm thankful to only pay a few bucks more.

Anyone else think the code red version of Terror Within 2 looks better than the scream version? The code red one has a 2k scan, and I do not see that mentioned by scream. Anyway I might hang onto the code red if this is the case. So at least I have part one now, both Terror Within films are fun trash.
