I just ordered this via Shout. I want a refund if it's delayed again. I'll stick with my DVD

Maybe they found an old beta tape of the original cut

At this point it's becoming a joke when EH will ever get a release! Should we expect another 5 delays after September?

I'm wondering if Paramount has a policy of destroying film material they don't use (space saving?). I know most other studios stopped doing that in the 70s, but with Paramount a lot of deleted footage or alternate cuts has gone missing for films from the 80s and 90s. The exception seem to be when the director or producer held on to the material (MBV & Godfather 3)!

I would assume Disney cleaned house after acquiring Fox. I’m sure all sorts of things were binned.

We are probably about 5 more days away from June titles. I'm actually curious to see how many Warner titles we'll get from the Scream and Select line.

May was a spectacular month, for sure.

Easily their best since spring of last year.

There's still some things out there that I hope for.

It won't fit Scream, but maybe Select, I'm still hoping for one day a BD release of "Forced Vengeance", with Chuck Norris.

"Deadly Friend" still needs a blu, of course.
One of these days, maybe when all the old guard at WB is gone, we might get Ken Russell's "The Devils", finally. What a jaw dropper that would be.

I think it will be a lighter month, but still some good titles. If we get either Deadly Friend or Alone in the Dark from the Scream line, I'll be happy. Hoping for Suburban Commando from the Select line.

Got my "Love Is In the Scare" order today. Last night it was still showing delivery on Monday, then suddenly this morning it had switched to Out For Delivery. Psycho III did indeed come with a slipcover, so now I'll probably have to see if I can find a Psycho II slipcover to buy for a decent price, because otherwise it'll bug me that they don't match. Haha!

I do think will get an announcement for I Know What You Did Last Summer & I Still Know What You Did Last Summer but it'll probably be for either the July or August Announcements.....

FearDotCom before the Warner deal is up so that people can stop shitting on that movie and appreciate the German expressionist and Italian horror elements Malone infused that makes it much more stylized than people gave it credit for.

I know it doesn't really matter but I wonder what the story is behind everybody getting Psycho III slipcovers. I would say they just don't rotate the stock and a bunch of us got lucky... or maybe III wasn't a big seller... but when I took my slipcover off it flattened out like it had been stored flat for a long time and just recently stuck over the case. I wonder if Shout printed some more or just found some in storage somewhere and put 'em on all the outgoing copies in this sale.

I watched this film for the first time last Fall. The script and performances are so awful, no amount of visual style can salvage it. I was so mad at myself for watching it. I had avoided it for so damn long...

Send me a PM this evening to remind me and I'll check to see if I have it. (If I do, it's not something I want, I don't even keep Psycho II in a stand-alone case.)

I remember Ebert praising it when it came out. I saw it in theaters but can’t remember much about it besides its central premise.

I've always enjoyed this one, as well. It's just weird enough to be really interesting. But then I'm also about the only person I know who actually liked Malone's Masters of Horror episode "Fair-Haired Child", too.

I agree with Roger Ebert's 2-star review:

Quote:
Strange, how good "feardotcom" is, and how bad. The screenplay is a mess, and yet the visuals are so creative this is one of the rare bad films you might actually want to see. The plot is a bewildering jumble of half-baked ideas, from which we gather just enough of a glimmer about the story to understand how it is shot through with contradictions and paradoxes. And yet I watched in admiration as a self-contained nightmare formed with the visuals. Not many movies know how to do that.
I'm an atmosphere guy. I'd far and away rather watch a "bad" movie that is actually inventive and visually arresting than a 4-star film with great acting and writing but is filmed by people with absolutely no visual imagination at all (i.e. most movies, especially comedies).
