My buddy and I are starting a podcast about boutique labels and collecting in general. We thought a good topic would be to cover the disc replacements because so many people in various groups have no idea about them. There was Halloween 4 in the box set, Jason goes to Hell, Jason X and Friday the 13th 3D in the box set, Black Christmas, child’s play, drag me to hell. What am I missing? I am brain farting on the rest.

There was no Trick 'r Treat replacement disc. Some people got scratched copies, but that happens all the time with any random release - this was maybe just a bit more prevalent. No new discs were authored and pressed, they just shipped you another copy of the same release.

Shout Factory has been slow to announce things as of late and have been closer to the 10th than the 1st... with the 10th being a Monday this seems to make the most sense but also raises the likelihood that some/all titles may be spoiled by retailer listings. Either way we have at least 2 more weeks to wait.
I didn't see anything anywhere on the forum about this but Shout did announce the two new exclusives yesterday on Twitter. However, the purchase links didn't work and they later deleted the Tweet. The two exclusive blu-rays were double features of Big Bad Mama/Big Bad Mama 2 and Crazy Mama/The Lady in Red.

Excuse me if I'm late to the party on this one... but what was wrong with Mountaintop Motel Massacre???

I bought my copy of this during the 2020 Black Friday sale... should I be worried or has it been resolved long ago and no longer an issue with newer pressings??

There was a glitch that freezes the film and causes it to skip a minute or so. It was about an hour into the film and if I'm remembering correctly was mostly affecting Sony players. I would imagine your purchase is fine, but it's pretty obvious while watching so give it a spin sometime.

Yep, they sent out replacements. The issue was discovered and corrected almost immediately after release.

I saw that tweet, and got really excited - but when I clicked the links it took me to the DVDs. Surprisingly, while the tweet was sent at 9am PST, I saw it at 9pm...

I took a screenshot:

That’s a lotta Mama. Must be for Mother’s Day but didn’t they release one of those titles as a BD-r?

Yeah, I was about to order both, but it took me to the DVD's. Then Shout deleted their tweet, and now it's radio silence time.

Weird. I was just looking last night at Big Bad Mama and Shout released a BD-R of it. Ended up passing though. I'll buy a BD-R from a small label but not Shout.

This new release won’t be a BD-R.

[Show spoiler]Phantom of the Rue Morgue
The Disembodied
Macabre
Attack of the 50ft Woman

Hands of a Stranger
The Hypnotic Eye
Tormented

Ricochet
Full Eclipse

HBO TV

The Guardian (1984)
Blackout (1985)
Cast a Deadly Spell (1991)
Wedlock (1991)
Witch Hunt (1994)
Blind Side (1993)
Citizen X (1995)
What a great list of potential future SF releases! Only one of my 'most wanted' was omitted on the list...Hammer's SHE (1965) with Ursula Andress as 'She who must be obeyed.' Also, a top notch supporting cast that includes Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and John Richardson. I have the widescreen VHS from MGM/UA and Warner Archives DVD but will gladly upgrade if/when it gets a proper BD release. SF already released the inferior sequel THE VENGEANCE OF SHE which I also own. Knowing that Warner is licensing their catalog titles at least makes the shuttering of the archive shop a bit less painful.
