I know it will never happen due to numerous possible issues, but I wouldn’t be bothered in the slightest if all labels released their planned yearly schedule. As a customer, it would save me a lot of double dipping.

It would be great, but I can only imagine the fan bases when cancelations come.

This is precisely why studios don't announce well in advance...they want you to buy the same movies over and over.

I'm pretty sure these are NOT official covers. These came from GeekGab's twitter, and while he posts accurate titles being released he often does his own mock-up of the cover art. I doubt these are real. So we should all just wait on the official announcements.

Come on now. You can’t tell me that you don’t see a difference between a corporation not giving a shit and leaking information, and what DOTD did. Nobody would even be aware of these leaks if Dawn didn’t broadcast them to their followers. They literally have to go to these retailer websites and search for the info and see if they can scoop something. Yes, shout needs to work out their kinks and stop these frequent stories from happening. But for someone whose entire online presence is to advocate physical media, you’d think DOTD would give a little grace and courtesy to companies when this crap happens

Honestly, I ENJOY the new artworks.

Yes, I think we can agree the original poster artwork would've been great, but I see no problem with these covers.

If Scream DOES surprise us with the remaining 5 films for October, I hope it means a new deal with both Paramount/Miramax AND Lionsgate (despite the former being out of the sublicensing game although they got new and better management at their home video department).

Oh yeah, it will never happen for hundreds of reasons, especially the 2 stated above (getting customers to double dip and cancellations)

But if someone leaking is that much of a big deal, then just announce it early if everything is in place? I always appreciate Vinegar Syndrome letting us know a few titles well in advance during their halfway sale etc.

There's plenty of people on this forum who go to all the retailers, every day, searching for anything. I'm pretty sure Alone in the Dark was announced here, by someone that isn't DotD.

I’m more bothered by the artwork on Alone In The Dark. Love the original art on that one. The new artwork is a massive step back imo. As long as the transfer is up to par, it’s no biggie but I would love to know why the brilliant original artwork on AITD wasn’t used.

I agree...the art does not match up with the movie. Makes it look like it is something that it is not.

Announcing a forth-coming release is absolutely helping advocate for physical releases. It's advertising. He's getting the word out better then Scream Factory is. It's nice to have a one-stop spot for announcements of new titles. Scream can easily scoop the fan groups by announcing their releases the day of/before they provide details to retailers.

I usually think people go pretty hard on the Scream Factory picked artwork, in some cases I like covers with floating heads (the upcoming The Dead Zone is quite nice imo, give me s--- about it!), but this is some of the worst artwork they've used. I wish they had gotten artwork from the original US one-sheet/posters or if they had to do commission stuff, they should've got someone like Laz Marquez on board. Marquez did the great art for Scream's Critters Collection and Big Trouble in Little China just for reference, plus the great Arrow Video UK cover of Carrie.
