Any publicity is good publicity. DOTD is a good page to stop by and stay up to date. I don’t see how 18,000 people being made aware of a release for free is a bad thing.

I'm just glad I know what to budget for in two months. Shout is already a month late with these announcements. Nobody jumped the gun, they're just going too far with the edging for their announcements. It's not that big of a deal.

Make the announcements at the same time you send information to retailers if you're so concern with someone else being first.

The Halloween fan base is so large, these slipcovers will probably sell well on the second market. Someone could potentially make slipcover artwork of the original posters and sell these for some money, depending on how late, you might break even on the discs.

Is it just me, or does Jack Palance look amazingly like Martin Sheen on that new cover?

If this listing is true (it's not up on Shout's site yet) and it is a Collector's Edition, those are usually offered with a poster of the new cover art for pre-orders from Shout.

No complaints from me. I am buying it either way, because it’s the disc that matters most. Some original art is that good, it can easily stand on its own. AITD falls into that category imo.

Never seen this one in the wild, but did find the H3 set of kids at Target a few months ago. Had to order this one from Amazon, thankfully for a not too bad mark-up ($80 shipped).

My bad, but still my question remains valid.

Seeing how they also had posters for They Live and PoD 4K pre-order, if these are the covers, they'll probably offer pre-order posters for them too.

Everyone stop worrying, Scream always has the poster art (or close to it) on the flip-side of CE covers. That classic poster is sure to be there.

All they had to do was use the theatrical poster arts like they did for the John Carpenter UHD's they released.

The Target here had the H3 sets again a few weeks ago but are sold out now. I also had to have the Loomis figure so I broke and bought this right after finding the 3 set. Laurie looks slightly better in person, but is a bit off.
