They are saving the good art work for the eventual steelbook 4k versions after you buy these…lol.

It seems a little ironic that Scream is complaining about fanboys and at the same time trying to sell yet another version of the Halloween movies. This will be their fifth different release of 2 and 3. Unless you are a fan of them not much will make you quintuple dip.

So what's the deal with the Elvira movie and Alone in the Dark? We know both of them are coming. Date and cover are all over the internet, yet there's still no official announcement from SF and no listing over at their site. Are they still pissed that they were leaked? I mean, at this point shouldn't they just make the whole damn thing official?

2012 - original releases
2014 - discs repackaged into box set with the other 8-films
2018 - 4K remastered steelbooks
2021 - 4K UHD releases

After reading through everything posted today it's no wonder Cliff doesn't post here anymore. Some of you guys are wound up way to tight.

Also, I like the art and consider the theme they are going for superior to the art they used on the steelbooks as well as the original Halloween releases from 2013. The running theme of Michael Myer's across all film entries is an interesting approach and one that will look really nice lined up on a shelf. Whether the original art is printed on the reverse of the cover or you have to print it yourself, I have no doubt that you'll have plenty of opportunity to get those covers if you really want them.

Announcements are/were always planned for this week, likely tomorrow. We were told as much last week I believe.

They're probably counting the smaller boxset.

So apparently Jeff Nelson said it wasn't him who reported and had Dawn's tweet remove. Dawn responded saying it's strange cause the report had his name and email address. Now Jeff is seemingly saying must be some staffer who did it. Drama is getting weird.

Maybe it's best to keep quiet about ALL OF THIS NOW until the announcement?

I feel bad for Scream Factory now, they were probably excited to announce this as much as we were discovering it.

I disagree. It's a public forum and people can freely voice their opinions and in this case they are completely valid. I completely get what they were going with the idea of a unifying theme. I like and find the concept interesting and kind of cool, unfortunately the actual execution didn't translate into something good. Those covers look like they were fan-made and aren't any better than those awful Fright Rags t-shirt designs. That being said, at the end of the day what really matters is the A/V and hopefully that turns out ok. Besides, these will most likely have reversible artwork with the original and superior artwork.

Agreed. They're the best artwork on the Halloweens to date, and already among some of my favorite ever from SF. They're festive AF and scream October and the Halloween season. I'll legit be pissed if all the negativity results in them being changed, but it probably wont. I think they're a done deal. Give me posters too.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not. Considering all the crappy covers they have released in the past, I'm looking at you From Beyond, I don't see them changing them despite the negative response.

Eh, if people only get SF news from their FaceBook, they'll still be surprised. Scream had their actual Halloween boxset leaked a few days before they were set to announce it back in 2014, and the F13 box set was an open secret for months before it was officially announced.

Fair, but anyone who bought the DVDs or both box sets would've done so willingly. The original release to either box set to steelbooks to now UHD is actual double (er, quadruple) dipping, imo.

But here I am, about to buy yet another release of these movies.

Unless they're unable to license out the remaining entires for a 4K release and then the motif only covers the first five films in the series.
