They need to send out the replacement disc accompanying those releases first.

Yes Sir. I am aware of the 88 release. I just don't want to grab it, and then it's announced by one of my favourite labels with additional bonus features, and a nice slip!

The sooner you bite the bullet and buy it though, the sooner they can get on with announcing it and we can all thank you for your service since that's how these things tend to happen.

EDIT: Actually now that I think about it... this (and the sequel) would make for great follow up releases now that 88 Films is going to start releasing films in the US. That could explain why no one has released it recently if 88 Films obtained US rights in the last few years.

They never said that so i dont think we are getting that announcement today.

Did they ever even say there were more extras to be announced? None of the product listings say "extras in process and will be announced at a later date". I assumed they were finalized.

They did, it was posted a while back in either this or the Halloween 5 thread

Yeah they did, they also said that the discs would start production on the 6th. So final specs and extras will likely be announced within the next 2 weeks.. Unless the week delay pushed it back a week.

The original Facebook said "more extras may be announced later," but in the podcast appearance that Cliff MacMillan did a few days later, he said they were planning on adding more stuff but were only able to announce what was currently signed off on including.

That's cool to hear, I was settled on just getting new transfers. New extras add more bang to the buck and makes the double dip feel a little less unnecessary.

TBH the main thing I want is more archival material recovered. There was a small handful of things missing from the deluxe set.

Hahaha. That's always the case isn't it? I'll be sure to announce it on this board if I end up losing patience and grabbing the 88 films version. Then we can all expect a nice USA release shortly thereafter.

Given the low print run it's feasible that it's just an upscale, but man oh man does that look promising for a future US release. Fingers crossed it happens here and is a full on HD release.

Ether the Germans made an HD transfer of theatrical and unrated cuts from several 35mm prints (and one or both probably have German titles like Der Hitcher), or this could be another smelly upscale course like Gor.
