Oh, right. I guess at this point I'm just used to these issues, but yeah, I'd love to see the original color timing for the last act, again...

I wish Disney didn’t own Freaked. That could use a remaster and a collectors edition. I will never part with my 2 disc dvd set.

Lionsgate doesn't have those titles. Cliff from SF has outright said that they licensed those directly from Trancas. Not to mention that there's apparently a DVD version of Halloween from SF coming out at the same time on Amazon, suggesting that they are taking over the distribution of those Halloween films.

That said, if they did make a deal with either Spyglass or Lionsgate (I'd find the former to be more likely, but who knows at this point) for a number of the Weinstein Company titles, combined with it being confirmed that Miramax titles, either through themselves or Paramount, are potentially up for grabs for UHD (with Criterion's announcement of The Piano), it DOES bode well for the remaining non-Blumhouse Halloween films getting the same treatment as the first five. Especially since Cliff didn't outright dismiss the other films getting released...

I'm thinking of nabbing Brainscan. Is it worth it?

I had a lot more fun with Brainscan than I thought I would. It's goofy and at times walks dangerously close to the edge of being campy but overall it was surprisingly enjoyable and a film I went back and revisited a few months later after my initial viewing because I liked it enough. I feel like nostalgia and your feelings for the early 90's will elevate your enjoyment of this one. I was 12 when this movie was released and so some of my enjoyment came from recognizing various aspects of my youth in the film, but that said, it's still an oddball of a film and may well be worth a watch just because it's a bit different and off the beaten path.

Probably when you're holding the disc in your hand. Shout/Scream are one of the absolute worst in terms of announcements. Then when they do it's "check back in 6 months after preordering to know what you'll actually get"

Then you'll have to wait for the replacement discs when half of them are faulty.

I definitely have qualms with Arrow too, but at least arrow is somewhat consistent on when and how they announce. And usually you know most if not all of the special features at preorder launch. Although I'm very miffed about the Dune Documentary loss

I preordered Deadly Friend and Killer Party from DiabolikDVD.

I usually just give away my posters, so I decided just to go the Diabolik route for last month's Halloween movies and for these new titles.

Same here. Unless it's a super deluxe thing like the F13 set I won't be ordering directly from Shout/Scream anymore. Nothing against them, but I never keep the posters so I'd rather not take one away from someone that wants them. I've moved pretty much everything over to Diabolik at this point.

Generally speaking I order from Amazon as I only have so much wall space for posters and most of the artwork Scream Factory offers I don't like enough to frame... that said I LOVED both posters/lithos that came with the Friday set and will be pre-ordering any respective Nightmare on Elm street release (should they do one) in a Heartbeat if it offers a similarly sized Litho/Poster combination from the same Artist. I have both Friday litho's framed and hung in my movie room and I'm a bit sad I missed out on the Halloween litho but that one was significantly smaller and so I'm not all that bummed.

feh. poor attempt to conflate. at least when arrow announces a title, you get all the information right there -- the specs, the supplements, everything.

with shout, it's more like "all we know is how much we're going to charge you!"

Think you’re exaggerating a bit here. They usually announce final specs pretty close to release, but they give more than enough time for anyone on the fence to cancel an order. And many of their releases have been free of error. Arrow has probably had more replacement discs this year.

Wonder if there is any chance we can get Ricochet (1991) from Scream/Shout at some point.
