Then again, as far as The 'Burbs, I'd be happy if Universal simply put the Tom Hanks 3-pack on Blu-Ray with The 'Burbs along with The Money Pit and Dragnet (both guilty pleasures). ![]() And while they're not horror films, if they're dealing with Universal, maybe Shout!/Scream! Factory could get Into the Night and Amazon Women on the Moon, which would make a nice companion to Shout!'s upcoming Kentucky Fried Movie release. Last edited by ScottDS; 04-20-2013 at 01:08 PM. |

Too bad because I really want to see it based on what I read on TV Tropes, the Action Girl trope specifically. Man, Beverly Garland sounds like a badass.

Well to go a step further out on a limb, I would love to see Scream/Shout do something that couldn’t be done before, consolidate Kolchak, since they seem to be doing a great job with the MGM holdings, why not both of Dan Curtis films, The Night Stalker/ The Night Strangler, then and I see this as the only way that Kolchak: the Night Stalker TV Series would ever get a HD release.
Sort of think of this as the same way that time life did all three pilot films then the series of 6M$ man in the box set. As for extras, the best one I can think of is originally the series was supposed to be 24 episodes, 20 were filmed, how hard would it be to get the remaining four scripts as a bonus, along with whatever else they could come up with. If nothing else I would love to see the two Telefilms done at the least. |

I disagree. That may be their focus right now, but I could definitely see them widening their output range in the future with earlier horror and sci-fi titles.

This is very true. In addition, while we've been used to seeing output from mainly the 70s and 80s, I wouldn't start dismissing other decades just because we haven't seen them yet. I'm sure we'll be seeing some.

Why? 50's sci-fi/horror doesn't generally appeal to the younger audience that Scream targets, and the overall dearth of genre titles from the period on BD save the tentpole films should tell you something about the general lack of demand. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I'm sure there's a quote or two from Cliff around here somewhere to the effect that their primary focus will be 80's and 70's. I could certainly see a few (late) 60's titles, but any 50's ones would be, if anything, DVD-only double-features and/or four-packs. I love 50's sci-fi/horror, so believe me I'd love to be wrong, but I can't see the financial numbers adding up for Scream.
