Alas, I won't be receiving these until March at the earliest, because I ordered the Synapse Phenomena 4K in the same batch without thinking about what I was doing.

I'll preorder The Sword and the Sorcerer 4K and Nightmare soon after New Year's.
Shout Factory has pretty much won 2022 already and it’s still 2021. What a line-up.

Great suggestions. I wouldn’t rule out Kino releasing Nightmare On 13th Floor and HOSH.

As for films like The Haunted, I suspect the VHS will be as good as it gets, which is a shame. One of the main reasons I am glad to have some films on VHS, as I fear some won’t ever see the light of day on disc.

Shout has released or announced all the titles on my Paramount wish list; Films like The Core are "extras" I didn't expect and gladly welcome. I still need upgrades of Nick of Time, Escape From Alcatraz and the original The Out-of-Towners to consider my all my general Paramount wanted titles fulfilled

Damn, I still have 16 Paramount titles I need. I've held off on Paper Moon so far, figuring Criterion or someone would release it any day with different extras than my Dvd...

Why don't you just buy Eureka's release?

Was pleasantly surprised to see the Resume Play feature available on the Krampus Naughty Cut disc. Bravo Shout! Please include this extremely useful feature on ALL your discs.

That is more than likely coming from Lionsgate as a part of the Vestron line sometime in 2022. Personally I'm expecting it to be announced sometime between February and May but that's nothing more than speculation on my part.

Earth Girls is a perfect title for Vestron! I hope you're right, TripleHBK...

A nuclear war has destroyed major cities and turned the Earth into a wasteland of contaminated fallout. Jim, a former Navy commander played by Paul Birch, has prepared for this moment in his isolated home, which is located in a box canyon where the lead in the cliffs shields him and his daughter, played by Lori Nelson, from the worst of the radiation. Soon after the blasts, these two are joined by other survivors, including a rational geologist played by Richard Denning, a striptease dancer played by Adele Jergens, a nefarious hood played by Mike Connors, an old gold prospector played by Raymond Hatton, and a scarred man, played by Paul Dubov, who is apparently dying from the fallout effects.

During the days that follow, in the close quarters of the small home with a limited food supply, the survivors gradually succumb to resentments, suspicions, and violent conflict. Their problems, however, are just beginning. These humans will soon learn that they are not alone in this desolate landscape.

Shot in less than two weeks on a limited budget, Day the World Ended, a 1955 post-apocalyptic sci-fi film produced and directed by B movie extraordinaire Roger Corman, packs gleefully entertaining doses of drama, danger, and monster mayhem into its 79-minute run time. Like most such genre films of that decade, this one allows science and religion to go hand in hand in a good-natured way that may seem quaint by today's standards. This black-and-white feature, however, also subtly brushes with unsafe subject matter, conveying the threat of sexual assault and the hazards of false bravado in volatile circumstances where individuals are no longer protected by civilized society and law.

Like many other moviegoers in present day, I yearn for the era before most popular films started pushing the two and a half hour mark with their run times. I am worn out, y'all! Day the World Ended may not be a cinematic milestone, but it is short, sweet, and engaging in a refreshingly simple way that rocks my face.

Fun fact: Lori Nelson's character keeps a photo of her and her apparently-deceased boyfriend by her bed. The boyfriend is none other than Corman himself.

This limited edition Scream Factory disc gets the job done with a nice looking presentation. If you love grain, then you are in the right place. The 40-minute Corman interview is a blast.

Thank you for this! My ideal movie length is somewhere around 75-80 minutes, and there is really no need for most movies to extend (sometimes considerably) past 2 hours. Nice review!

Xtro is such an obvious pickup for Shout, yet they still have not announced anything. Hopefully this is because they're doing a new scan for a UHD release. Such an oddball but great little sci-fi/horror flick.

My sweet spot is 90-100 minutes (but some stories work better when they are in the 75-80 minute range). Some stories need the extra exposition, but some just have it to pad out the theater experience. I watch my movies later at night when everyone is asleep. As I get older, a few beers and a long work week puts me to sleep or staying up late/getting up early the next day ruins me.

I'd like to see Return To Horror High get a North American release. I know it's bad, but it has it's moments. Always loved the vhs artwork.

This one gives me Arrow vibes for some reason.
