I get a notice like 4 days ago that my Howling 4k has shipped... it's been stuck on "label made"... By the time it ships, it'll be the release date by then. So much for early arrivals.

I still need the Shout release of King Kong too.

Wait, re. the replacement disc for Vampire Lovers, do I need to sign up for that if I ordered the disc from Scream themselves? Or is it automatic?

But I'm not the only one that has these problems. I play tons of discs and have no problems. The freezing problems I've had on discs many others have had the same and got replacements and they worked fine after. I will try it in another player I have and see what happens though.

No issue. davidthenikonuser is in denial that his player is having problems playing some discs.

BS. Others had the problem with Dead & Buried and Blue Underground looked into it and found there was a problem and sent replacements. Even if it is the player if it gets worse then I will get a new player.

Do you have a timecode or a link to discussion about the DEAD AND BURIED issue? It's one I hadn't heard of yet and I have yet to try my copy. And is it the 4K disc, or the Blu?

I believe you, I just want a little guidance so I don't have to watch both discs all the way through. Haha!!! That happens a lot of me rebuying titles I've owned before or at least have seen before, I will rebuy to upgrade, but hardly have the time to watch these films all the way through again. It's a collector sickness!!!

EDIT: NM, I did a google search and found this. It's the 4K disc I need to check and there's a timecode listed. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=19160727

EDIT #2: Well, I checked my 4K of DAB and it plays fine through that portion, what a relief. Who knows what it could be, some discs may be faulty, or it's encoded wrong so some players don't read it correctly, or whatever? My player is an LG. In any event, I hadn't seen this in years, Farentino is very slim and in shape, and the actor from "Jack Frost" is in it (who died in an avalanche in real life years later).

I ordered direct, and went ahead and signed up for the replacement. Received it a couple of days ago. Seems like the consensus was you still needed to sign up for the replacement. Not sure if it was ever confirmed, though.

Just tried to purchase The Brain Eaters and The Lost Continent, and again, after the payment goes through, it suddenly comes back stating "FRAUD". I have never changed any info, so I see no reason for this. Called Shout Factory and they were no help, just told me to order in a different way. Anyone else ever go through this. This never happens on any other site, only Shout Factory.

FINALLY, Shout has my account payment method working again. What a pain in the A-- that has been. Can place orders and pay immediately again.

It was around the 1 hour 9 minute mark on the 4K disc. I sent my disc to blue underground so they could send it to the relocator and they said it had a problem, the new disc worked fine.

I was never really interested in Happy Death Day but when Shout announced the 4K I grabbed a copy from Amazon (it was cheap) just to see if it was something I was foolishly dismissing. It wasn't. I'm about an hour and ten into it and I'm mostly just bored. Unless there's a REALLY great ending my instincts were right all along. Bog standard modern college horror flick. The "relive the same day" schtick was fun in Groundhog Day but it was just annoying here. Who wants to watch the same dull scenes play out over and over?

I'm really flabbergasted why Shout would pick this for a 4K release. The Blu-ray looked fine and it's only 9 bucks

To each his own. I am a big Bill Murray fan (edit: In fact, I watched Murray's The Man Who Knew Too Little just last night!), but I call Happy Death Day "Groundhog Day done right!". I was bored by GD, I thought this one was pretty clever.
On the other hand, I am fine with the Blu and have no interest in Scream's 4K. I was very surprised at their announcement.

May is usually a pretty heavy month for titles, so I wonder if it will be for Scream this year. With Raimi's Dr. Strange coming out I hope that's when they announce A Simple Plan and The Gift if they have that.

I enjoyed these films somewhat especially the first one but yeah.... I'm equally surprised that Scream would upgrade these titles to 4k, and that people would be excited to get them. The blu rays look great and I really can't imagine a big PQ advantage...

Weren’t the Happy Death Day movies likely shot on 2k digital cameras?

Movies shot under lesser circumstances can look stunning on 4K UHD discs if done right.

Star Wars: Episode V - Attack of the Clones is one example.

They were shot on ARRI Alexa Mini’s which were used on numerous 4K releases that people talk positively about, including Blade Runner 2049.

I'm not sure if the the Happy Death Day movies were filmed in 2K, 2.8K or 4K, but I'm pretty sure they were both color-graded in an HDR format.

Whatever the case may be, I'm surprised that anyone would really question the logic behind licensing mainstream, contemporary films with relatively big box office numbers and a DCP. Seems like easy money, to me, even if I don't hold the films in high regard.
