I watched Alligator last night and had a blast. Easily one of the best Jaws knock-offs of the 80's.

That will be my Saturday night viewing this week. I'll have the house to myself and was hoping for Vinegar Syndrome Valentine's sale viewing, but my box won't be here in time, so ALLIGATOR is my backup. I'm really excited to watch the 4K as it seems like it's getting universal praise; haven't seen the movie in about a decade or so but it's a favorite!

That sucks! I've been holding off on picking up the series on Blu because I figured that after their Halloween and Friday The 13th sets that Scream Factory would naturally do the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise next. Sucks that Warner won't license them out. Given what they did with their previous two franchise sets you just know that they'd do an amazing job with NOES as well.

Hope Olive gave up rights for Running Man and Monster Squad as we can sure use UHD 4K/blu combo Collector's Edition packs of those movies with extras abound and new 4K restorations from original materials and those would be best sellers.

I mean there was a 6 year gap between the Friday and Halloween boxsets. Maybe things may change in a few years but a nightmare boxset wasn't imminent once the Friday boxset came out. I'd like one as well, but we'll see.

You know Warner will do something for the 40th Anniversary in '24... if they won't license the films out (dumb) then at the very least I'm hoping that they'll release the franchise themselves on 4k with each film getting it's own disc. Whatever they'd assemble for extras and the physical presentation would pale in comparison to what Scream Factory would provide, but just give me a comparable set to that original DVD set but with 4k discs and I'd still be thrilled.

Why Warner wouldn't license now and allow Scream Factory to release a definitive Blu Ray set is beyond me as the inevitable 4k releases will attract the same fans back again in a few years.

I know this is nothing new on here, but wow, Shout’s shipping productivity really is horrible isn’t it? Ordered on the 14 and it’s still radio silence on their end except my confirmation email.

The Elm Street series do need a fresh reappraisal and I would take any re-release over nothing but, man, tbh my enthusiasm levels would be near the bottom if it's Warner who end up doing it. Majors studios have very little sense of creativity and vision when it comes to physical media. Just look at that Blu-ray set they released all those years ago. New Line did a fantastic job with their DVD set, though, but I think they were still an indy studio when that set came out? We need something like that for UHD.

So I guess the main feature is from what source material Universal has. The bonus version (not mentioned on cover) is the version that's going to be on the region B disc.
Does it have the Universal International logo at the beginning of the film? I ordered the region B Nucleus Films version.

I ordered on the 13th and it didn’t ship until the 23rd. It just arrived today. They normally ship within a day or two if they have everything in stock. If not, they wait until they have everything in your order before shipping. Just be patient - you’ll get it.

I really would've liked to see Scream Factory put out a Nightmare on Elm Street set, but I think Warner will give us a 4K of at least the first film, if not the first 5. It's got to be coming... It's one of their biggest franchises. I expect them to put out The Lost Boys and Lethal Weapon soon too. (Fingers crossed so hard.)

I’m glad they’re not responding to shipping inquiries. That takes time away from actually packaging and shipping the orders. Just wait longer. Your orders will ship.

I didn't mean they did not respond to my inquiry. They did, and they are always outstanding in the customer service dept. But I think it's normal to wonder about your package nearly 2 weeks after it was placed. Obviously it's going to show up. But when is a normal question to ask.

And customer service reps are usually not the shippers in most companies.

Same here, no movement at all for over 10 days. Its strange because Shout usually is the fastest shipper to me. So I'm guessing there is a big problem there for it to be this bad now.

Nope. I stuck it in the check. There's only one version of the movie on the disc. I'm thinking it's the same version as the region B disc. No bonus features.
I'm thinking that Universal still has the U.S. rights, and that the film was licensed from whoever owns it, same people Nucleus version licensed from, but had to be cleared with Universal in order to release in U.S even though Universal didn't supply anything.
In short, only Universal has the rights to release any version, from any source, in the U.S and Scream had to clear it with them.
Does have "copyright 1958 Universal Pictures" on cover. No other copyright.

I had wondered if this was a leftover title from Universal deal with either the classic horror, 50s sci-fi, or Hammer and Scream was throwing it out as limited exclusive to do it and be done.

Can confirm: Alligator 4K looked as good as a Blue Underground 4K.

That's exactly how I feel about it. That DVD set is the last time I purchased any of the NOES films, and I bought that DVD set over 17 years ago. I definitely want to upgrade to at least Blu-ray, but I am holding out until a quality set is released. And I just know that if I give in and pick up the current blu-ray set that as soon as I do SF is going to announce that they're releasing a complete franchise box set. That's what happened to me with Friday The 13th. I held out for years and then I came across the original Paramount set on blu for 20$ at Future Shop. I figured for that price I might as well since it didn't look like SF would be announcing a set any time soon. And wouldn't you know it? Not long afterwards that's exactly what happened.
