Lots of movies didn’t make money in their theatrical run. Doesn’t make them bad movies and underserving of release.

I'm in for "The Ghost and the Darkness" and "Femme Fatale"!

"Ghost" had some great things I didn't expect about it (without going into anything spoiler-ish).

old point made many times... it's still lower tier De Palma.

I love the movie LUCKY LADY--- but I'm not gonna say it's a top tier Burt Reynolds or Gene Hackman film...

I think you got Femme Fatale confused with The Black Dahlia. FF got a rousing review from Roger Ebert and several other critics at the time of release. Sure, it under-performed at the BO, but that was just audiences being too used to spoon-fed storytelling.

IMO, Femme Fatale is the best DePalma film since Carlito's Way so I will definitely be picking it up.

Femme Fatale is absolutely low-tier De Palma. It's not his worst movie but I mean, come on. You have films like Phantom of the Paradise, Obsession, Carrie, Dressed to Kill, Blow Out, Scarface, Body Double, The Untouchables and Carlito's Way. Then you have films like Raising Cain, The Bonfire of the Vanities, Mission to Mars, Snake Eyes, The Black Dahlia, Passion and Femme Fatale, which are certainly low-tier De Palma. At least, they are not nearly in the same league as his earlier films.

That art for EFNY is what will persuade me to double dip (I already have the Studiocanal set). I assume it will be the same scan - hopefully a better encode.

You have one or more titles from your order that’s backordered. Your order will ship when they have your entire order in stock.

Matter of opinion, but I'm going to rank Femme Fatale at least as good as Body Double (better IMO) and leagues above the other films you have named in the low-tier.

Just Escape from NY 4K, and maybe Ghost and the Darkness, depending on extras.

Wow, I was away from the forum yesterday, and I missed quite a bit, it seems. Scream Factory, killin' it! I'll probably pick them all up. Lifeforce 4K is a day 1 for me. And I've never picked up Ghost and the Darkness. So I'm excited to finally own that one.

FF (and at least two other films in your “bottom tier” list) is a masterpiece and one of De Palma’s most thoughtful and interesting works, IMO. The man is one of the best to ever do it and has remained consistently compelling (even if he doesn’t always hit home runs) throughout his career.

Ghost and the Darkness needs a new master. The current master is dated and it looks like it is vertically stretched up
