Looking at the remaining Paramount horror/sci-fi titles unreleased on Blu-ray (in the US), I'd say that was very near the top of the list. If Paramount don't intend to release it themselves, I have to think Scream will be all over it.

Anyone else is disappointed we never got Howling 4 and 5 from Scream factory? I mean, I know it's a different company that owns the rights than the first two sequels but honestly, 4 and 5 needed it even more, these are movies that have been treated like dirt (full screen, godawful quality, never any extras, stuck in box sets). They are my two favorite Howling sequels and have what I consider the 2 best posters in the franchise after the original one. I'd love for a proper treatment, although i'm sure it would be more work (since these movies were only released direct to video in full screen, so who knows how hard it would be to go back to the original print and give us a better product).
Anyone knows who owns the rights to The original nightmare and Rebirth?

For a while I was under the impression that Parts 4-7 were Lionsgate properties via Artisan but Artisan may have just had a limited distribution deal for the rental market. Vinegar Syndrome hinted at releasing a Howling collection a couple of years ago, which tells me Lionsgate does not own these films. I thought I read somewhere that Shout had acquired the company that held these films but I may be misremembering what I read. In any case, I'd love to see a boxed set of the later sequels. As bad as they are, I'd be all over a nice Collector's set.

I'd prefer individual releases of 4 and 5 (the only two sequels I like, honestly) but I'd still be all over a box set, as long as each entries get their original cases with original posters like Scream factory usually does.

I genuinely like 4 and 5, while I thought the original book was pretty bad, I can admire The original nightmare going back to it and trying to be more faithful. It definitely feels like a direct to video release but it has a nice atmosphere, not unlike something like The Tommyknockers adaptation. Plus, that werewolf reveal at the end is nightmare inducing and one of my favorite werewolf design in movies.
As for Rebirth, it's my favorite sequel and the first Howling movie I saw when I was 8 and it left quite an impression on me. While I like the whole Agatha Christie whodunnit story, it's the setting that makes me enjoy it as much as I do. I love horror movies that take place in an old castle in the snow (like The Fearless vampire killers) and this does it very well. Being stuck in a snowstorm and inside an old castle while a werewolf is killing people was absolutely terrifying to 8 years old me haha. Plus, I love the werewolf design in this and was always disappointed by how little you see it. And that poster (the one used on the old vhs) is striking and I just love it haha.

Hopefully we get these one day, definately at the top of my wishlist. :P

I've always wanted to see a new restoration of Howling VII: New Moon Rising after hearing Joe Bob Briggs speak so highly of it.

Apparently he is showing it this year on The Last Drive-in. Doubt it's a new resto though.

I know that I am in the minority, but I only like these 2 Howling flicks.

I'd buy Howling: New Moon Rising if it used the original poster art.

This poster sure fooled me into thinking we were getting a better movie back in 1995.

10% Howling IV footage, 50% mediocre werewolf mystery movie, 40% country music scenes.

Yet still more tasteful than Howling 2.

Ugh...you would actually purchase NMR?? I rented it once on VHS and was sorely disappointed. I can't imagine it's any better 26 years later..

Lol, yeah. It's terrible. The country music is horrible even by country music standards. The line dancing is jaw dropping awful. I guess I'm a sucker for a cool looking poster.
I could always pretend a better movie existed within!

I hope in June we get Cat's Eye UHD 4K CE from WB/Scream/Studio Canal Collector's Edition BD/4K combo.

I watched about 2/3 of the film over three sittings. I just couldn't get into it. The PQ was just decent. I'd be interested to see a side by side comparison with a 1080p edition
Well as a fan of 80s movies like Beastmaster I look forward to getting the 4k. I grew up with an HBO recording on VHS, there was a US DVD released way back in 2001 that had been long out of print and going for scalper prices, so for decades people were starved of any kind of quality presentation. Don't recall liking it as much as Beastmaster or Krull but I'm sure it'll look worlds better than my old cable recording.
