As mentioned in the deals section, there is a Roger Corman sale at the site till April 11th. Includes some OOP titles, and some store exclusives, which are rarely discounted.

Decided to get during the recent DD discount code offer, the Blu-ray double feature of Naked Vengeance and Vendetta. Should hopefully arrive either before this weekend or early next week. I can be a very patient person, but sometimes that can turn into dithering (missed out on getting a new copy of Kino Lorber's Blu-ray release of Nightkill). You can wait and wait for a UK label to announce their own release, but when you start to get the feeling it won't happen, you decide to get the North American release (some films get a UK release fairly quickly after a North American release).

In terms of Universal 4K UHD upgrades, obviously Army of Darkness is on the cards, but what else might be coming? I'm sure they'll do Darkman and Psycho II, which probably means Psycho III as well (who knows about 4), but after that, it's difficult to say. These are probably the contenders:

Deadly Blessing (the Blu-ray looks to have been a poor seller given how long the slipcover hung around for)
The People Under the Stairs
Shocker
The Serpent and the Rainbow
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (I'd say this has a good chance, and they might feel obliged to do Bordello of Blood with it)
The Sentinel
Ghost Story
The Car
Ghost Story
Nightmares
Cherry Falls
Village of the Damned
Death Becomes Her
Raising Cain
Firestarter
Serial Mom
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Land of the Dead
Drag Me to Hell
The Strangers
Dracula (1979)

Some of these certainly look more likely than others (the post-2000 titles, those helmed by big-name directors), and I very much doubt we'll see them all upgraded, but as always it will depend on a few things, like past sales data and the restoration costs involved.
Do they only have a deal with Universal and Sony?

Who has the rights to Sleepaway Camp?

I think sleepaway camp is independently owned. Probably by the director.

Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 both have the MGM logo on the spine. I don't know if it's still them, though.

The special features for that particular blu ray were also rather sparse for a collectors edition and if I remember correctly, there was originally much more planned but all of it was scrapped as a result feedback from certain parties and various studio agreements.

I'm sure some of the chatter I'm remembering is buried deep in this thread if one were to go back and try to find information from around the time of release. I don't believe that it was explicitly stated that Bruce Willis/Meryl Streep/Golide Hahn were the problem, but I do believe that it was hinted that their teams were the cause behind why this release didn't really pan out into a full fledged Collectors edition in regards to the amount of content that we usually get as at least one of the parties had some very specific expectations/rules about what could be said/how they were portrayed.
fully admit that i’m too lazy to search a thread.

might be just me, but i guess maybe it shouldn’t have been a shock that three massive stars didn’t want to be a part of any behind the scenes. i never would have expected them to be in involved. besides them being busy and trying to fit in the schedule. wouldn’t these the biggest stars on any of the releases? and do you see them on behind the scenes for any releases?

this is a movie that they never really talk about, but i don’t know that it is because they don’t like the movie. i know streep said she didn’t like doing visual fx. this was quite successful for the time. it’s not like this was some poorly received bombs. it made $100+ million.

which is fine. and not at all surprising. same with the idea of them not wanting the new scream factory art on slipcovers. love scream factory, but i think the slipcovers with original art are usually awful. yes, and scream factory understands and gives you reverse art. again, i don’t see an issue.

all this stuff is always speculation. and mostly overblown. because the truth is so uninteresting.

I think the issue wasn't so much that 3 mega stars weren't involved but that they basically placed a gag order on things. Behind the scenes footage, cut scenes, alternate footage and possibly interviews all were tossed as I believe at least one party may have had some say/final approval on things.

Again I'm going off of memory here so I may be a bit off the mark on the exact nature of things, but I do know that the release initially had more planned for it than what we ultimately ended up with.

I really hope that in the future, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) & Jacob's Ladder (1990) get Collector's Edition releases.

I made these custom covers for them.

TMNT (1990)

Jacob's Ladder (1990)

I mean, I'd love a collector's edition of the original TMNT (one of my all time favorite movie) but it doesn't really belong under the Scream factory brand name. :P

A collectors edition of the first Turtles movie is even less likely when one considers that if Shout Factory did acquire them (which seems plausible) that they'd likely release a box set of the first 3 or possibly first 4 (2007's TMNT) since folks rarely ask for only the first movie. I'd be ok with Collectors Editions of the first two films, but it would still be an odd look to leave the 3rd film out to dry.

In regards to Jacob's Ladder... That's an awesome looking cover, but that film is with Lionsgate and so there is 0 chance of seeing that one based on everything we know thus far.

Trying to figure out where to order these 4Ks from. I have Amazon Prime but they've become unreliable. I don't need the posters so Shout is out. Diabolik was my go-to but lately they've been taking their sweet time shipping stuff out and I REALLY like getting stuff early. That leaves Bullmoose, Best Buy and Deep Discount. I think BB would be the best choice for early shipping but their packaging sucks (and so does DD's). These are standard 4Ks and not box sets so I can live with dinged packaging if I had to.

I've got two crates full of posters and no wall space to hang 'em anyway. I had to stop pre-ordering from Shout

Use orbitdvd, they usually get stuff early and they always ship in a box next day. No preorders though.

With Happy Death Day/Happy Death Day 2 U getting the SF treatment so soon after studio releases, do you all think will begin seeing more UHD CE of more recent horror films? Do you think will begin seeing more Blumhouse films coming in the near future?

What films from the last 15 years would you all like to see given the CE treatment?
I'm hoping to see:

Everything Mike Flanagan has made!!!
Ti West's The House of the Devil (2009) & The Innkeepers (2011)
Kevin Kölsch & Dennis Widmyer's Starry Eyes (2014)
Sean Byrne's The Loved Ones (2009)
Oz Perkins' The Blackcoat's Daughter (2015) & I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016)
Adam Wingard's The Guest (2014)

The list would have been longer but I was also thinking about what studios would allow recent films to be released by SF and I don't think Lionsgate, A24 or Warner. From what I could see Universal has been one of the few that has...
