It was posted here by CMAC that Shout/Scream were not allowed by Warner to get the license for Nightmare on Elm Street.

Nothing will stop people from posting about a Shout Nightmare boxset.

We could get a SF Nightmare boxset and it would still be asked about.

Is June they 10th anniversary?

Did they do anything special for their 5th anniversary sale?

I am wondering whether I should just bite the bullet and order the old Universal collections from Hamilton at $43 a piece (considering SF have never sold them at a lower price themselves), or it might be an idea to wait a bit and see if they do something crazy for their 10th anniversary.

I think that's a bit harsh. It's a well made film and puts to shame almost anything from the Troma catalog of films or that from Unearthed Releasing but it is just dull from start to finish. At $15 it wouldn't be a bad blind buy, at $28 it's a pretty clear "AVOID" and will lead to buyers remorse for most folks.

As pretty much 90% of my movie buying these days are blind days, I was disappointed in the film but didn't regret my purchase as I realize I can't win them all and when it comes to films that are limited like this you take the risk or miss out forever and so I took my chance and in this case it didn't work out.

"Well made" and "dull from start to finish" don't sound like co-habitable descriptors.

Good point... to Clarify I meant that the mechanics of how the film was assembled. Ie. The way it was shot, the audio, the set design/locations, the acting... etc. None of this struck me as bad, campy, or terrible so to speak. However the sum of the parts (and a boring script) didn't equal anything other than a dull viewing experience for the viewer.

For the average viewer "Terrible" is probably a fair description... however we here on Blu-ray.com are a breed our own and so "Terrible" can be any number of things when it comes to film watching.

Ew. I figured it was Z grade trash. I was thinking of picking it up if SF gave enough warning before it was OOS but I'm sure as hell not now. Nothing worse to me than a boring well made movie.

MCM wasn't as bad as I remember. Not great but no logical reason to throw it to the wolves. There are much worse out there.

I picked it up - it’s a movie that should have come out 10 years later and been a post NOES slasher flick with all the gonzo crazy that implies. As is, the movie just feels held back from what should be a cool premise.

Seriously the Christopher Lee intro is the most engaging part.

I need to stick to VinSyn for my blind buy trash cinema in the future

Isn't that a Cardinal sin for a movie? Being dull? It doesn't need to be perfectly put together or have a deep meaning as long as it's fun.

Event Horizon 4k inbound from Paramount, so much for buying the definitive transfer just last year. These double dips are getting closer and closer together.

I'm thinking that it's a poor investment to buy a 4k remaster downscaled to Blu-Ray these days.

I bought the SF for the extras and the transfer, so I'm happy enough with it. I do detest when a studio releases a 4K edition of a movie previously released by a boutique label, considering they usually won't have the extras and alternative versions included. If Shout could have gotten 4K rights then we would have had it all in one package.

I’m ok, I’ll clairfy, it’s one of the top 5 worst movies I’ve ever seen. Don’t waste your money
