I asked if there will be announcements.. they said to keep your eyes peeled Friday July 22 on social media... I'm sure they will deliver the goods...

Really really hoping for Sleepaway Camp 1-3 4k, Sleepy Hollow 4k, Bride of Chucky 4k, Night of the Demons 3, Fright Night 4k.. even though that's a stretch, Cheerleader Camp (but I doubt it), The Faculty 4k, Black Christmas 2006 4k, Dracula 2000 and sequels, The Burning 4k, Stay Alive, Mars Attacks 4k, Thinner, and some comedys, Love Stinks need a new transfer badly, Superstar, Jawbreaker, Sorority Boys, White Chicks, The Hot Chick

I’d be in for a number of those! I’m generally on the fence when it comes to 4K upgrades, but when it comes to movies that I missed the first time or have yet to buy anyway, I’ll always go the 4K route (in this case that would be The Burning or Mars Attacks). And Black Christmas ‘06 and Superstar are long overdue!

So is it likely that SF is looking to re-release most of their big titles on 4K UHD?

Yes but they’ll all be scratched to hell

I’m sure that’s their plan, but now there’s competition (Arrow, Kino, Vinegar Syndrome) swooping in and stealing some of their former titles.

Are these Comic Con dates? I'm not expecting many new titles but would love upgrades on Sleepaway Camp, Drag Me to Hell (been a good year for Raimi titles), Night of the Demons, and maybe something like Serpent and the Rainbow. I'm sure there's plenty of other titles but trying to get wish lists going before announcements. Love your idea for Black X-Mas 2006 as I remember it getting a Canada Alliance release and then just kind of disappearing afterwards. Saw it on Christmas and I believe it needs an upgrade and a poster for sure.

Interesting. So it sounds like they will have something to announce even if they don't have a panel on that Friday? Hmm. As long as they give us a A Simple Plan everything else is icing on the cake.

I saw that Kino was getting some of their MGM catalog but for some reason hadn't noticed Arrow U.S. competing. Really liked that the transfer for Candyman was available from Scream Factory and Arrow U.K. Also noticed Second Sight did the same with Dog Soldiers. Them both being region free hasn't seemed to stop this practice from continuing and hopefully the sales will reflect this being advantageous for both parties.

By competing, I didn’t necessarily mean getting only titles Shout released in the past, but titles I’m sure that Shout would have liked to have licensed (like American Werewolf in London and Robocop).

So no SDCC panel for Saturday, but maybe they are only doing social media this time? No idea.

I get what you mean. It's weird because there are definitely Arrow titles that I don't see SF releasing, but not so much the other way around. Maybe it's because SF got to the states first because I know many of their titles were available with Arrow U.K. Maybe it's because out brains are constantly comparing but when I think of Arrow I think Argento and grittier horror films like Hellraiser or Last House on the Left. Confirmation bias would eliminate me from noticing outliers like Tremors, Flatliners, or Crimson Peak. I am perhaps also not noticing that AWIL and Hellraiser are U.K. and Argento is Italy so this may be more obvious than I am making it.

Disney is prepping a sequel to be filmed and set entirely in China: Little Trouble in Big China.

Well, it's with Disney now so it really isn't all that surprising.

Of course they are. China is paying for it, why not throw some Big Red propaganda at us...

I saw you ask about Two Minute Warning. GREAT movie. Well made and entertaining. Nightmare at Noon just went oop too and that was fun if you can find it.
Appreciate you bringing this up, as sometimes parts of posts get lost amid other discussion. Have you watched the television broadcast version on Shout's Blu-ray release (I'm aware that there is a separate discussion thread for Two Minute Warning, but there didn't seem any problems with the discussion from last Friday)? I was going to ask you about another Shout title, but my mind has gone blank.

I am not sure. I didnt realize(remember) there was two versions. I would have seen the unedited cut. Or longer version as that's what I would have gravitated to.

It's not the film or TV film I referred to at the end of my previous post, but I've come across a Shout! Factory release of a TV film called The Spell (there is a separate discussion thread for it in the North America sub-forum).

I enjoyed it! Went into my killer kid collection.

OOP, so if you can grab it, it was a entertaining tv movie about a bullied 15 year old with Witch powers.
Helen Hunt all of 12 yrs old as I believe plays the sister. Being a TV movie it had no memorable gore or nudity, but if you like the Televised Terror set from VS or the Primetime Panic set from FCE you should enjoy it. Acting is top notch as I remember.

And feel.free.to discuss whatever movies the Scream Factory label puts out in this thread. Most people dont visit the individual movie threads, so you will get a much better response here.

I'll have a better look at this Shout title much sooner rather than later this week (will take my mind off the weather (heatwave), but (the separate thread aside) I've looked at the Blu-ray.com review and yes, Helen Hunt aside, I see that Jack Colvin (who I really liked in the Incredible Hulk TV series) also starred in it, as well as (based on one of the screencaps) James Olson (one of my favourite TV actors. Think the most recent episode of a TV show I saw him guest star in was Jake and the Fatman). It's reminding me of one of the films I have seen him in (and it's becoming a welcome repeat suggestion as many on the forum here want to see it), Amityville II: The Possession.

Have got Second Sight's Blu-ray steelbook release of the original Amityville Horror and VS's Blu-ray boxset of some of the later Amityville sequels. I know Shout did a Blu-ray boxset of the first three films in the series, but it seems those first three films could do with new scans and restorations (I'm imagining a deluxe edition boxset with existing and new extras (and if it's not Shout which do it, and the extras in their boxset can't be ported over, then hopefully I can still get Shout's boxset of the first three films for the extras).
