H20 is pretty good. Resurrection is the only one that is totally unwatchable, IMO. Although, I'm still going to buy and watch it, so...

I rewatched it a couple years ago. Even it though it was bad, it wasn't as bad the second time around. There were definitely some rose-colored nostalgia glasses on though as I was transported back to 2002.

I feel like H20 is good on a first watch because of it's relatively good story compared to 6. but I find it kind of bland visually in a way thats just less interesting to watch when I know whats going to happen.

Plus, I'd rather spend my time, money and effort finding more obscure titles instead of the umpteenth release of a series. You'll always have Halloween, but good luck finding this. ![]() |

Found out since my last post SF has said Halloween 6-8 will not be released individually, also saw the 120 price, wtf, terrible goddamn deal.
40 per film. They're asking 40 for Resurrection. If I can grab 6 4k off ebay down the road I'll see it that way. I'll never buy this set. |

I have a question for everybody. In my experience, SF has always been prompt with sending out replacements for scratched discs (requiring only photo proof) when the product is purchased directly through them. Are they just as responsive when you buy from retailers Diabolik, GHV, etc.?

Cause those VHS would look terrible on a 50+ inch HDTV.... If you won't even upgrade to DVD that's odd as hell to me. I only ever had Halloween 1-3 on DVD and I've upgraded as they've released them, haven't got any of the 4ks yet, only due to high starting price point. |

I'm genuinely surprised by the disgust Resurrection gets... I find it oddly enjoyable. Helps I saw it in the theatre, and I always have a sentimental soft spot for flicks I've seen in the cinema. But it's a movie from a moment in time, that then made sense. Just like Kevin Bacon dancing and gymnastics to pop rock in Footloose. Looks funny now, but back then it made sense.
And Resurrection was dealing with the aftermath of reality TV taking over American televisions, and putting that in a plot with Michael Myers was pretty damn cool, I think. Watching it today can be laughable at times, especially Busta's Wu-Fu, but it's a part of a series and I can't neglect it simply because of that fact. I'm stoked we're getting (and got) Halloween 1-8 on 4K so that I can purchase them for the 6th time (rolling my eyes)... |

Busta was playing himself. I actually saw him live in Camden around this time at some festival, featuring mostly pu$$y acts like Blue Man Group, and he made these two guys in front of me stand up while he performed. They left soon after, clearly they hadn't come for Busta. You show Busta respect or get your arse kicked like that bee-itch Michael Myers.

I don't hate Resurrection, but don't particularly like it either. I watched it a couple months ago for its 20 yr anniversary. It was okay to revisit it but if I wait another 10-20 years to watch it again that'll be okay with me. $40 for it is completely out of the question since I have it in the blu ray collection.
I was only hoping to get H20 because my disc in the blu ray set has audio issues. I could convince myself to get this new set because I enjoy Curse too. The box art looks cool...the slip art (like the previous 4k releases) don't appeal to me at all and that's the main reason I didn't care to upgrade. All in all there's so many negatives outweighing only a couple positives for buying this set. And at $100+...no way. I was thinking this set would be $70-80. I'll just look to buy that triple feature blu ray with H20 in it sometime. I'll definitely be picking up RotLD 4k though. I'm hoping we get a site exclusive by the end of the month that I'm interested in to bundle and use my 15% off $60+. |
