What the hell is Shout doing with their Bubba Ho-Tep release? Regular release 4K doesn't come with a slipcover, even though it's a CE??

It looks like you have to get the poster option in order to get the slip? Seems odd... So now they're charging an extra 5 bucks over the CE to get a slip? Hope this doesn't become a trend for them. Because it looks like in this case, if you order it from any other shop you won't get the slip.

They're trying so hard to mimic VS's success, but at the end of the day their slip covers are paper thin and not very nice at all; they should focus on higher quality if they want people to give a shit and order direct.

Correcting my post, I didn't see there were two editions. That's pretty lame if so. But it looks to be a special slip vs regular slip.

I honestly wouldn't mind if the price is reflected in the cost. That way people would know when ordering if it had one or not.

I don't care much about Shout slips, mostly because I've yet to find a mint one. They've all had pinched or crimped corners and creases from how thin they are.

Well honestly, on their site listing it doesn't show it coming with a slip, nor does it mention it until the upgraded option for $39.99

At this point, I'd agree with a couple of you, that their slips are in dire need of replacing. Going the VS route (and to a lesser extent, Arrow) and offering us high-quality, harder slips is a great idea. I like their slips now, but they should get better, as a lot of collectors do want a nice slip with their bluray/4K. But I appreciate what we get today.

I enjoy Scream's catalog so much more than Vinegar Syndrome's, but VS's packaging puts Shout and nearly everyone esle's into their place. I love Arrow's as well, so hopefully Shout takes heed and offers us a slip with some good build quality. It will completely change their entire game and status.

They are charging an extra $4.00 for a slipcover and a second style poster. That's the option I went with.

Little disappointed Dragonheart appears to be a plain slipless non-CE release. Not even part of Shout Select. I guess there's a reason boutique labels never bothered to touch it or WarGames before - nothing they could do to top the studio release.

Kind of a expensive month, I want DH, SPM1/2, Kubo, Box Trolls, Bubba Ho-tep, and Kamen Rider Ryuki.
I might not pre-order some the slipless titles. No real point to rush.

That bundle includes two slipcovers. The wide-retail version has a slipcover, Shout just didn't include it in the picture.

There is something wrong with SPM2. The runtime on the Shout site says 76 minutes but the unrated cut runs about 85 minutes...

I don't see any evidence that they're trying to mimic VS. Well, unless you count the hardboxes the Halloween films and some others came in but those seem to be super random.

I actual like the scream double features, cool to see them do a 4k one hope they do the same with some other titles they dont feel would have done well enough for a solo release

I agree. Severin seems to be moving in this direction. Right now it is hard to get a Shout one in decent shape, even directly from them, which wasn’t always the case. It’s virtually impossible to get a Shout, MVD, Raro or Kino slipcover without some damage, even new.

I just wish Scream would bring back those slipboxes they used for the Halloween Movies and Elviras Haunted Hills. They look even better in person than what you see in a picture.
