I actually got an email last week with those titles, but when I clicked the link they came up "page not found". I figured it was a temporary glitch and would be fixed in a few days, but then I forgot about it.

The Germans are always leading the pack. Unfortunately, a lot of those releases sell out in the blink of an eye. I found out about Fright Night Part II and Tourist Trap too late. Trick or Treat is still available, but I read the English audio is horrendous.

Yes, there is something going on with Fright Night Part II however I was just bringing to light that it had nothing to do with the Menendez.

Based on comments in the You’re So Cool Brewster documentary, the filmmakers don’t share that opinion. (Of course there are a few bankruptcies in the companies involved in FN2, so there’s plenty of options for rights issues).

Also - your action movie collection is incredible. I love that you have a section specifically for Scott Adkins.

I wouldn't say it's horrible but it's pretty gross looking.

Here's a screenshot from the old DVD with Ozzy on the cover. Looks a lot nicer though it's only SD obviously

I concur.

I own both and there is just something "off" about the BD PQ. I prefer the SD DVD, crazy as that might seem.

Wait… seriously? I’d assumed that the issue was that whatever rights Menendez had to FN2 were frozen while the trial went on (and on and on) and then got seized and auctioned off. With Carolco and LIVE both having gone bankrupt as well, I figured there were just a bunch of different owners that all thought they owned the right (or some percentage of them and didn’t want to play ball with each other).

Fright Night Part II is under Lionsgate via their IVE/LIVE/Artisan acquisition. Maybe the film will turn up under their Vestron line. They (LG) were probably waiting to clear any rights hurdles stemming from the Menendez situation. Someone here mentioned Carolco - if this is the case then perhaps StudioCanal has some say in it.

The colors are a bit off, but I don't see any DNR or sharpening. It looks like the transfer was made from a print rather than from the OCN. I think I could probably live with it if the audio is at least discernible. I haven't seen the movie since it was released on VHS. And who knows when someone will give it a proper blu-ray release stateside.

my holiday surprise was hitting a local store and finding that someone sold off some OOP Scream. Picked up Robotjocks for 20 bucks. They had Tentacles / Reptilicus fo 25 and a few others. Going back in a few weeks once I recoup from Xmas to grab the rest if they are still there.

I wish this was still the case at my local 'record' store. Used to be a great place to find used/oop boutique releases but post-covid it seems that no one is trading in anymore. I still go and check once a month, but I'm lucky to even find one or two used releases I'd want to purchase. Miss those days when I would walk out with a stack every few weeks.

yeah I have a few used shops and every time i go i end up getting something. It was funny. A few months ago they got in a surplus of Child's Play blu rays with slips even for 15 bucks of the older version. And most of the stuff that is out now on 4K for scream as well. Seems like people sold off stuff to upgrade.

Some people have all the luck. I didn't wear my SF shirt when I went to a drug store last night, and was promptly kicked out.
