How does this clean off the discs?

(I haven't received mine yet).

The oil comes off easily with a gentle wipe using a microfiber cloth. Don’t use a napkin

As someone said earlier it can be wiped off the discs and the case. After cleaning the discs there are a few lighter scratches but it doesn’t look as bad as before. I’ve taken the Halloween discs out of the case and put in some random discs I’m not bothered about just to see if any more of this going to come off as it’s sits on the shelf. Fingers crossed.
You didn’t attempt to wipe the disc off before making a claim?

No because the marks did look like severe scratches plus there are scratches underneath when you wipe it off plus items should arrive in perfect condition if brand new.

Was pleasantly surprised to get slips on both Prince Of Darkness and They Live. I had put off buying both because I figured the slips were long gone, so was waiting for a good price. The recent website sale was that good price, and I ended up with slips anyway!

Blind bought Dead Silence because Best Buy was out of The People Under the Stairs.

Woof. That movie was not good at all.

I also, for shits & giggles, decided to put both the 4K disc in my 4K player, and the blu ray disc in my blu ray player. Toggled my input back and forth to compare. And honestly...the actual quality & sharpness/detail looked the exact same to me. But the blu ray was much brighter than the UHD disc. That was the only difference I could tell.

Maybe I just have layman's eyes and it doesn't make a difference to me. Ended up watching the 4K disc because why pay for it & a setup if I don't utilize it.

I intended to pick this up while browsing but BB was out of stock that week. So the 4K and Blu-ray were virtually indistinguishable? That's what I figured. I guess you saved me thirty bucks This is the kind of movie that didn't need a 4K, though. Unless it was shot on film I'm not too keen on double dipping "just because".

I got the Unrated blu-ray of Dead Silence from Gruv for $5, which is perfect for that movie. Couldn't justify $28 for the 4K, and sounds like I made the right choice.

That's the scratches fault, sad to say.

Finally sat down to watch Lifeforce after picking up the 4K when it first released. No sure what to think. Mathilda May is certainly a looker but space vampires? I wonder if Tobe Hooper was inspired by the 1982 horror flick One Dark Night, which features an animated corpse that closely resembles some of the undead aliens of Lifeforce in appearance. There's also a special effect in ODN that, I would say, Hooper may have "lifted" and replicated (the purplish rays of light thing). Anyway, yeah, I was actually a little bored by the film despite the, um, eye candy. I sat through it just to say I watched Lifeforce but I'm not sure if I'll be revisiting it again. Is the Director's Cut significantly different?

I remember seeing this in the theater and hearing people’s comments leaving the show as I was entering. One person said “well, it was different”….

Lifeforce has always been a bombastic misfire, an entertaining but epic failure. It has some cool ideas and some great eye candy, but nothing really works.

I loved Lifeforce.

I don't remember a single thing about the movie. Just one (well, two) things. But plot? Nothing. And I loved it.

I really like Lifeforce too. It's like an 80s Hammer Quatermass film. It would have been fun if they'd cast Andrew Kier as the head of the space agency.

The final 20 minutes definitely seems like an homage to Quatermass And The Pit…. I’m always reminded of that film when I see the ending.

I always enjoyed it as well. Saw it theatrically, then on laserdisc, and most recently on UHD.

The film is based on a novel by Colin Wilson called The Space Vampires, so yes, space vampires. The book's plot differs from the film with a lot more detail about the energy sucking aliens and their origins.

I like the movie a lot, although Steve Railsback's acting is just one note hysteria. Being a gay fella, Matilda May was wasted on me, but the male vampires are kinda hot.

That should be some sort of self-test for questioning teens.

"The Mathilda May test."

Watch five minutes of LIFEFORCE and if the sight of her in the buff does absolutely nothing for you... then you're definitely gay.
