I am hoping Scream can get the rights to the Dawn of the Dead films and release a kick ass boxset of ALL THE CUTS.

I am also hoping SCREAM can get the rights to the Critters Franchise and give it the Blu treatment as well.
Criterion's doing "Scanners" later this year, they have already soft announced it and more Cronenberg.

They do not currently have the rights to 'Dawn of the Dead' and 'Night of the Living Dead' is public domain. So don't hold your breath.

Critters is with Warner, they do not usually license out the films, so again, don't hold your breath.

And If you were that 'advid', as you spelled it, there is no way you wouldn't have heard of this company and their amazing product. No offense, .

Sorry been under a strict budget after all I am now married and a child on the way.

I have a massive bluray and dvd collection but I have been downloading a lot of movies but buying the ones I really really like mainly movies of the horror variety. Time to give myself an allowance and start buying up the SCREAM titles lol

Many of us don't own a 3D TV or projector. That's why we really don't give a damn whether anything is released in 'Blu-ray 3D' or not. They could send it out in anaglyph and that would do just fine for plenty of people who don't want to invest in expensive powered glasses and the hassel and expense involved with something that is still just really a gimmick.

The sequel to "I Spit On Your Grave" is finally coming to DVD from Massacre Video. I think this is actually legit because they scored a new interview with Camille Keaton!!

They seem to be a company to look at as well, in regards to some lesser known titles hitting dvd.

[Show spoiler]

I never realized just how large the I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE franchise was.

- I Spit on Your Grave (1979)
- I Spit on Your Grave (2010)
- I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)

(unofficial)
- Savage Vengeance
- I'll Kill You. I'll Bury you... I Will Spit on Your Grave Too

So people with 3D TVs should be ignored because the rest of us don't have 3D TVs? That's just selfish. Anaglyph is old, worthless tech, and it should die out. If you want 3D, buy the tech. If you don't want to spend the money on the tech, fine, but don't complain.

Well...Criterion's hinted at stuff in the past that has yet to come to fruition.

Every fibre of my being hopes that you're right -- more than that, I hope they do all of Cronenberg's early stuff! -- but a soft announcement really isn't any annoucement, is it?

No offence to all involved, but I see no point in this conversation.

Cliff, we are thrilled that you are SPENDING TONS OF MONEY to give us the original version of this classic film.

I mean for gods sake, it is called AMITYVILLE 3D.

And just because you do not have a system that is compatible with the 3D disc, at least someone cares enough to do it.

It will be in 3D & BD, so chill. This is certainly not motivating the staff that is working hard on these releases. Feedback like this will not make them want to release movies like JAWS 3D or anything else that they may get access to in the future.

they didn't just hint, the company that owns Criterion has publicly spoken about getting them, specifically "The Brood".

+1 and this is only going to discourage Cliff from coming back in here again, and I dont know about anyone else, but I value his comments.

Negative. Complain? Like you just did trashing anaglyph?

I replied to someone who had a comment about those people who don't own a 3D TV, so I was pointing out that many of us choose not to invest the money in the 3D equipment. I think it's a waste of money for a gimmick that isn't worth it, just like you trash and slander anaglyph. Nothing selfish about having an opinion, and by the way, I can complain about anything I like, sort of like you just did.

"For God's Sake"? Well, ok then.

What are you referencing? So what if you don't see a point in a conversation? Don't read it.

"Just because we don't have a system that is compatible with 3D", maybe we chose not to and we don't see a point in it. That has nothing to do with Amityville 3D. I saw it in the theater when it was released many years ago, and I think it's great that it's coming out on blu-ray, and in 3D for those who participate.

tbh The original Amityville's 'gods sake' tagline was what I was referencing. Majority of my post was facetious, but there is validity.

I no longer have a 3DTV or anything. Sold to pay for school. Either way, I am excited about it and their Facebook page is proof that a ton of other fans are excited about it. I am also excited because in the future when I am out of school and not on a student budget, I can watch it in 3D or not, its my choice.

You didn't seem very positive about it in your past posts either.

Really? I love 3-D movies, I have a huge Collection of Blu-Ray 3-D movies and I love to watch them on my 2012 Samsung 3-D TV in full 1080 HD. It's about time someone started releasing 80's 3-D movies on Blu-Ray 3-D and I think Scream Factory will do a kick ass job on Amityville 3-D.

Now We Need these on Blu-Ray 3-D:
Jaws 3-D
Friday the 13th part 3
Treasure of the Four Crowns
Comin' At Ya
The Man Who Wasn't There (1983)
Metalstorm
SpaceHunter
Parasite
Flesh for Frankenstein
House of Wax
Rottweiler
Stewardesses
Robot Monster
It Came from Outter Space
Gorilla At Large

Plus about 100 others....

I completely agree. I thoroughly enjoyed 3D movies when I had a 3dtv and bluray player. I meant how it was starting to take a negative spin.

And "House of Wax 3D" is still on Warner's radar this Fall, its on their release schedule along with a new 40th Anniversary of "The Exorcist". That is one I am also definitely looking forward to!

He did specifically cite that the negativity was the reason he left and didn't post replies for months.
Remember, he JUST came back to the thread.

[Show spoiler]Also, I don't think anyone is disputing that he is a legend
We all know that! haha.

+1. Sometimes I'm afraid to say ANYTHING for fear of being run out of town. The point of joining a public forum is to listen to EVERYONE'S opinion, not just the good ones. I'm sure cliff understands

I think we all need to be respectful, and even if we have a less-than-positive opinion about a topic, lets be kind and courteous. Good intentions or not, lets get on with it.

so... new topic. Anyone expecting Creepshow 3? It is owned by Taurus.

If possible, could we buy the worldwide rights for Creepshow 3 and use all existing copies in a landfill? I'd like that.
