I'm surprised Shout hasn't released Electric Dreams (1984) on Blu-ray, or even DVD for that matter.

I'm guessing the soundtrack is a rights nightmare. This film ABSOLUTELY cannot have any alterations in the music, otherwise it would ruin the film. I'm also guessing this isn't an issue in the UK since Second Sight was able to release it. One of my prized possessions.

You can still purchase them from SF or your favorite retailer.

Well Second Sight was able to release the movie, I can't see why Shout! can't.

International rights are different sometimes.

I see Shout are now streaming Point Break and Timecop. If these were acquired from Warner Bros (I have to think they would be), might they also have physical rights as well? Also interesting that both are Largo titles, like Dr Giggles; perhaps we might also see Unlawful Entry and The Getaway?

Kino is working on yet another new deal with MGM, so perhaps Electric Dreams could come from them.

It's with Warner Bros in the US, though as speculated music rights are likely a major issue.

I'd love a blu-ray of Unlawful Entry, but isn't that with Fox (Disney)?

I just have to wonder if it's a streaming rights only kind of thing. I noticed a few Mario Bava titles that have gone OOP from Kino have also been added to their streaming service for June. Would be great if SF could bring those back into print with new editions, though I imagine they only have streaming rights.

Bless the Child, which I had never watched, played more like a lesser episode of The X-Files, except drawn out and super high budget. I could do without Hollywood junk like this. It's weird, 10 years ago I would've probably held the film in higher regard.

We'll just have to wait and see, but in theoretical terms I don't think WB would have an issue licencing Timecop, Unlawful Entry and The Getaway (the latter two in particular make sense, not having a US Blu-ray already). Point Break is much more high profile, but then you have to ask: the way they operate, is an upgrade of this one really high on WB's agenda? I'm not convinced.

For me it was mediocre then, and mediocre now…

Finally received the WarGames, Rollerball and A Company of Wolves UHDs today. WarGames' UHD disc is scratched up, and the Rollerball UHD disc is scratched up so bad it has me wondering if it was dropped, stepped on, and dragged around before it was placed in the case.

And so my hot streak of scratch-free SF discs comes to an end. Here's hoping they'll be cool about replacing them. If not, I will have to go back to avoiding them and their junk as I did for years until this last sale came around.

Don't forget not sending you a poster for Rollerball despite saying in their email that WarGames and Company of Wolves were the only two in your order they ran out of.
