My last CS message from them said they are now two days/wk in the office. Give them a break. They are working twice as hard now!

They also said to wait 2-3 weeks before the replacement disc would be mailed due to the extreme backlog. It has now been 3 weeks on the nose and no shipment or informed deliv. notification.

How hard could it be for someone at Shout to coordinate with someone at the plant in Mexico to ensure better quality control.

I'm truly baffled by this recent controversy on scratched discs--- I'v even gone back to my movie room and reexamined by SCREAM discs to see if I could see scratches.

WARGAMES, ROLLERBALL, DOG SOLDIERS, CORALINE, CARRIE, BLACK CHRISTMAS, PARANORMAN, COMPANY OF WOLVES....

all acquired this year....... NONE of them with a single scratch. How could I possibly be this lucky?

The only disc I've seen a mark on at all was DR GIGGLES... there was one scratch fairly minor-- I watched the movie immediately in case of a playback issue and thankfully there wasn't.

I'm not accusing anyone of lying or exaggerating-- I'm just wondering why I haven't experienced any of these horror stories

It happens. I, myself, hadn't had any issues with any SF discs until this latest batch from the UHD sale. Even my Friday the 13th set was entirely scratch free. Granted, I don't buy their stuff often so I don't have a ton of it, and that's likely part of why I'd gone without any issues for so long. Having said that, this is not a recent controversy. This has been a legitimate problem for years now, and it has affected many of us.

As you can see, this was posted in December of last year and so far nothing has changed. SF has been aware of this for a long, long time and, unfortunately, they have yet to address the issue in an effective and meaningful way.

I emailed Shout factory and believe it or not a got a reply from them within a couple of days about my batch of scratched disc from the recent sale and explained my thoughts as a collector/buyer.

I can assure you that we're having ongoing discussions with our manufacturing plant regarding quality control. We'll always do our best to ensure that disc quality stays at the top of mind.

I suggest everyone use the email above and let them know how you feel and share your thoughts and describe your problems with how many disc you received scratched and that it is unacceptable to be selling brand new disc with damage to there customers/collectors. The more voices heard, the better. just try to be as polite as possible when replying

Why are they only in their office two days a week still? They can't used COVID as an excuse any more.

On a separate note, they need to reopen a plant in North America and forget about producing discs in Mexico.

My Brave Archer set arrived wiith 4 minty discs and part 1 had like a deep 3 inch scratch right in the middle of the disc…Shout sent me a mint replacement. I consider myself lucky on that one. I don’t order direct anymore unless it’s an exclusive. And I painfully will not bother with the Shaw sets, as I know they will be scratched up disasters of epic proportions. The crapola Mexican plant is doing its best to squash the joy of blu ray collecting.
