Nothing is organized in any convenient way, you have to find and then click on links just to get a synopsis. I was looking for the Exclusives, so I clink on the logo to get to the page, only to find ONE exclusive and a bunch of regular titles To top it off, Pay-In-4 wasn't available as an option, so instead of four titles I chopped it down to two. With these insane prices, there's no way I can spend a small fortune and not feel like a chump. It's just an overall unpleasant experience.
The only good thing about it is the exclusives are so hard to find now you don't have to worry about a quick sell out.

To be honest their previous site was already a cluster****. It just went from bad to worse.

I haven't ordered direct from SF in over a year. Prices suck and they annoyed me with the exclusives and 4K re-releases, all bare bones mind you. Kudos to them for getting the 4K for Haunting of Julia, but its like the only release that mattered, and I went with Imprint for the soundtrack. I have enough posters for now. I did double dip when the SF 4K went B2G1, but otherwise what have they done, Slumber Party Massacre double feature should've been a Collector's Edition. Its been a while since Ninth Configuration, their last worthwhile exclusive. Shout has at least been flooding the market with Shaw Bros, Jackie Chan, and Sonny Chiba, but Scream Factory has been really struggling.

I think the Nightbreed 4K is what broke the camel's back for me, next will be starting to offload stuff, which has already started with me listing all my titles from the Arrow video store box.

It must be rocket science to design user-friendly websites nowadays

All these web sites were designed for browsers on laptops or desktops. Now most people access web sites using their phone, so my guess is they feel a need to provide a more mobile-friendly experience. Probably you have to be more directed because it's no fun on a phone having a web site throw lots and lots of images at you. But yeah, the SF web site was not ready for prime time when they launched, I wonder what their governance is like, did some suit just tell them to launch no matter what? I have found their web development team responsive when I pointed out specific things that weren't working.

They were able to release the old dr strange movie, so who knows. I have no idea how true this is, but I read some years back that shout looked into releasing it, but couldn't find elements.

Considering you can get it from the Doomed website, I guess neither there.

Unless they decided to go "screw em" and just did it themselves.

Damn, I would love to pick up so many of the exclusives from the last couple months but that $30 price tag is brutal. You HAVE to include some more extras or SOMETHING at that price. $30 for what sometimes is an older HD transfer of a film is outrageous.

These have to be so cheap for them to produce as most of these titles, they just own outright now right? I can't imagine how much of a profit they would be making by setting these at $20 a pop and bumping the limited run to...idk...3,000 at the very least? C'mon man....

The DVD on the Doomed store isn't a authorized release but it's fair game due to the circumstances of the film (though don't expect it to be there forever). They just can't get access to any of the original materials.

From a press release that just hit my inbox a few minutes ago:

Quote:
At this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, Shout! Studios is set to delight fans at its booth (#4118) on the conventional floor with fan engagement activities, including a showcase of new home entertainment products, Comic-Con exclusive items, including 20th-anniversary tote bags and collectible promotional items for partner brands including ALF, Aardman Animation, Farscape, and others.
Seems like it's going to be the same as the past couple of years, meaning no announcements/presentation, which is a bummer. It always felt like Christmas in July.

This was also in the press release:

Quote:
Direct-to-consumer sales are also a part of Shout! Studios, home of ShoutFactory.com! For the rest of the year, we'll be celebrating the 20th anniversary with monthly contesting (on the 20th of every month), recurring emails harking back to our most popular releases over the last two decades, and a blog post looking back at 20 years' worth of Shout! fan favorites. And we'll be bringing you the Shout! Select and Shocktober sales fans have come to know and love, as well as a series of 20th anniversary-themed flash sales every Friday at the end of the year - we even updated the packing paper in all our orders to reflect this monumental milestone!
No mention of a Summer of Fear sale....or have they already announced that's happening? I missed it if so.

Agree about the price but all three titles have new 2K transfers. However i would've love to hear some commentary tracks for the films. They should have Adam Baldwin do one for Sawbones since i heard he hates the movies he did for Roger Corman.

In the Trading Forum, there's something called Group Buy, which I do not fully understand. I wonder if that could be utilized whenever a company such as Shout has an exclusive title that is only for sale in US (not available to Canada or other country.) Maybe someone could take the initial order(s). The secondary shipping fee to its final destination would need to be determined in advance.

Have you guys heard about Shout's name change from Shout! Factory to Shout! Studios?

https://www.facebook.com/shoutstudio...PsibcZNM6aKMQl

Scream! Studios doesn't sound as good as Scream! Factory, in my opinion.

Companies do this when they get a lot of bad press, just look at Facebook, and Scratchgate has been blowing up the Internet for a while now. Probably same reason Jeff was forced to resign. Buck has to stop somewhere and heads have started rolling.

I didn't think of that being a reason but it makes sense.

People on the Reddit post about it are joking (or possibly not) that their media with the previous name with skyrocket in price and be considered "OOP." I found out about the news from the thread.

Rebranding usually takes a lot longer to put in place than your timeline would allow for.

This is how corporations work people! You don't fix the problem. That's too damn hard. You just change your name!

Agreed. I did see in that FB post that someone asked the same thing (maybe yourself?) and they replied that Scream! Factory will retain it's name.

I didn't see that comment until you pointed it out, so it wasn't me.

So are they saying they'll retain it on their products or that what they do will stay the same? Or both? I apologize for my confusion and if I can't read it correctly right now (I blame the heat for making me tired and making it hard to concentrate on anything else right now. It currently beating my AC at the moment.)
