Nobody online bothered to take screencaps of the previous Equalizer 2000 release...I prefer seeing a little of what is being offered before buying.

According to their Twitter feed, now X, Shout has added scratches to this release. So that's one exclusive. Personally I would've preferred a commentary but I'm old school

I think it's awesome that Equalizer 2000 received a reissue and 'new 2k scan', more of Cirio H. Santiago's post nuke / exploitation flicks need some love.

I've already got Bill's release otherwise I'd be all over it...even at the price.

As others have mentioned, the OG Code Red disc is available elsewhere for much less. The Interview with Frederick Bailey is a hoot.

I wonder if there only being one pressing plant in North America and all remaining labels competing for jobs have any bearing on discs getting scratched. The holiday season is upon us, which means a surge of new discs that will need to be pressed to meet demand. Maybe if they rush these through, quality control suffers. Also, I read on another thread that the discs themselves seem to be a lower quality today. Thinner, rougher?

That's a total Holy Grail, which I didn't realize until this moment was scheduled for release. Finally, after 40 years, we'll get the extra scenes of WHEN TIME RAN OUT (yet not apparently cut into the film, as we did in THE SWARM Blu-ray release). Also, HD releases of all his TVMs! Hoping the quality is good on these. The Warner Archive DVD releases back in 2011-12 weren't, and appreciated, but these BDs will blow those out of the water...

I'm curious as to the picture quality differences between the Code Red Equalizer 2000 and Shout's... obviously, no one has the Shout in hand yet, but was there any difference between the CR Wheels of Fire and Shout's that came out 6 months ago? I feel like that would be a pretty good barometer of what to expect with E2000.

I have this, from memory, it could be a superior encode, but I’m not sure, only guessing, and only Raiders of the Sun is labeled as having a new scan.

I got both, we will see. Hopefully better result than revenge of the cheerleaders

Shout is the worst. I updated my address with them two weeks ago and they still shipped the Chucky set to the wrong address. The website is atrocious. It’s not recognizing my saved password and it won’t even recognize that I’m hitting the forgot password button.

Well... It's finally happened. My first scratched Shout Factory disc arrived today and is unplayable - Candyman of all films.

For me it was Bubba Ho-Tep, thankfully I bought it from a local Best-Buy so returning it was easy but still it sucked getting a unplayable disc. The replacement copy worked flawlessly.

The Return of the Living Dead.
Halloween.
Halloween III.
Alligator.
Child's Play.
The Fog.
The Howling.
Escape from New York.

These were all unscathed, fortunately.

Maybe you guys just forgot your passwords. I entered three possible passwords, all of which were rejected, so I just reset it. Shout's site is very CIA-like lately, with 2-step verifications, numeric codes, CAPTCHAS/puzzle games, etc. It's nuts.

I didn't forget my password as it is stored in my computer and I can check it but I did just go ahead and reset so I can log in now. I think you are right with the CIA-like lately.

Nope and it wouldn’t even send me an email to reset it.
