What's up with all the 4k scratched discs? Anyone had this and any playback issues?

Question

Does anyone think Scream Factory should (or even could) release a separate/standalone Blu-ray of Abbott And Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde (1953) sometime soon?

Although debatable, I personally feel that this movie technically belongs with all of the other Classic Universal Monster films.

Despite being a huge Universal Monsters fan myself, this film is still unfortunately missing from my Blu-ray collection simply because adding it has proven to be way more complicated (and costly) than it should rightfully be.

To elaborate:
[Show spoiler]I already owned all 6 of Universal's "Complete Legacy Collection" Blu-ray sets by the time they decided to re-release them all together plus Phantom Of The Opera (1943) as the "Universal Classic Monsters Complete 30-Film Collection". This was admittedly a bit disappointing at first but at least I could purchase Phantom Of The Opera (1943) on Blu-ray by itself so no real problem.

Later on, Shout Factory released the Abbott & Costello The Complete Universal Pictures Collection Blu-ray box set which included Abbott And Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde (1953). Again, I already own all of the other Abbott & Costello Meet "The Monster" films on Blu-ray so there's no way I can persuade myself to pay a "box set price" for just one film. However, unlike the previous dilemma, Abbott And Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde (1953) is not available to purchase on Blu-ray by itself. Well, at least not currently here in the U.S.A.

I know I'll eventually be re-purchasing all of the Classic Universal Monster films yet again when they all finally receive proper upgrades to 4K UHD. However, Universal's current decision to slowly release these films on 4K in small (and seemingly random) clumps at at time, has convinced me to hold off from making any purchases at the moment. Instead, Universal really should have chosen to release these 4K upgrades as complete "Legacy Collection" sets that focus on a singular monster/series just like before. But then again, that would make too much common sense. Regardless, I highly doubt that Abbott And Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde (1953) will ever be included in a 4K box set for Universal Monster films anytime soon. Hell, it's very unlikely that this film will even make it to 4K at all!

Guess I'll just rearrange my umpteenth extra copies of Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) or contemplate the wonky presentation of Revenge Of The Creature (1955) again for the time being... "sad to say".

Anyway, I really hope that someone will seriously consider releasing Abbott And Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde (1953) on Blu-ray by itself.
At least I would truly appreciate it!

If you like A&C, then why wouldn't you get their box set? it is fantastic if you love the duo. I would think you would like all their films. No?

I only wanted the A&C monster films for the rest of my Universal Monsters collection, including the Killer Boris Karloff and Hold That Ghost. I couldn't convince myself to buy the box set with the other films.
Though if I ever caught it as a cheap price again I'd probably bite.

Is Sawbones any good? Am surprised to see it’s only sold about 150 copies.

Yeah, I guess you're right, I do enjoy the Abbott And Costello films.
And don't get me wrong, Shout Factory's Blu-ray box set appears to be the collection/presentation to own.

In a perfect world where I had unlimited funds and shelf-space, whether or not I should purchase all of their films again on Blu-ray (and 4K) would never even be a question.

Meanwhile in reality...

I probably wouldn't consider myself THAT big of an Abbott And Costello fan, or at least when considering all of their films.
The monster/horror related films seem to be the only ones that I actually love.
I'm just having difficulty spending that kind of money on more of their movies that don't quite fit that particular mold.

If Universal or Shout Factory (re-)released a complete Abbott And Costello Blu-ray box set that contains all of their horror/monster related films only, I wouldn't mind quadruple-dipping on these titles. Well, not as much as I currently do at least.

As a side note pertaining to my original post:

I still don't fully understand why Abbott And Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde (1953) is repeatedly excluded from the pantheon of Universal Monsters films when grouped together for home video releases.
[Show spoiler]The only possible exception being back during the good ol' VHS days...

I have always believed that the Traditional/Classic "Transylvanian" Monster archetypes included all of the following:
  1. Dr. Frankenstein's Monster(s)
  2. Vampires
  3. Werewolves
  4. Mummies
  5. Invisible People
  6. Gill-People
  7. Hunchbacks (Of Notre Dame)
  8. Opera Phantoms
  9. Jeckyll/Hyde
So what's the deal about that? Seems pretty unfair if not totally prejudice if you ask me. Just sayin'.
Anyone else have some thoughts on this subject?
These are the questions that keep me up all night as October/Halloween approaches...

I think the issue is that its the only Jekyll/Hyde movie in Universal's library. They remastered the Frankenstein, Invisible Man, and Mummy ones to include with their respected franchises, and are really only included in the big box sets for completion's sake. The classic J/H movies are with Warner.
There's nothing really stopping them from doing a Blu-ray edition of A&C Meet the Monsters collection, but for some reason they haven't yet.

SoD - both discs have minor scratches
Curse - BD has minor scratches, 4K is terrible, rings all around
Cult - BD is mostly clean, 4K has minor scratches

Ironically one of the exclusive alternative slipcovers had a scratch on the backside art.

How does SF deal with mixing orders. Like if I get something off the going OOP page along with a preorder~will they set that title aside for me, or is there a chance I don't get the title if it sells out before the preorder ships? Was hoping to combine a title with Night of the Comet 4k...

They do. I think Shout is the only retailer that does it. Maybe Bullmoose? I don’t buy direct from Shout anymore except for exclusives but I love that they do that

DeepDiscount and its many sister sites (like Movies Unlimited), Barnes and Noble, GRUV, and most of the big retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, Target, etc.) also ship titles as they become available.

The list is longer than I thought. Kinda puts Orbit DVD and Diabolik to shame, who insist on shipping everything in the same order together. That could be a HUGE no-no with people who purchase preorders and in-stock items together if the preorders are due months away. Not everyone has the patience of saints around here
