I buy from several of those other retailers because it helps spread out the financial hit when purchasing multiple titles. It's much easier to absorb a $100+ dollar order when it's spread across multiple shipments that each only charge a small portion of the larger total price.

Though to be fair, a lot of those have Alliance or Ingram handling their shipping/fulfillment, which is a very different beast on a very different scale than Orbit, Diabolik, or Grindhouse.

Planning to watch these in October, but I feel a little doomed with the condition of the discs.
Sounds about right...

MifuneFan mentioned that Shout TV is streaming a ton of Largo Entertainment films online. Like The Getaway, Unlawful Entry, Timecop, and Point Break. Streaming and physical are two different beasts, but man would be nice to get some of these on disc from Shout.

It's interesting because as far as knew the Largo titles previously with Universal had gone to Warner Bros, and SF licencing Dr Giggles fairly recently suggests they still should be. Also, they're streaming Judgment Night, and the WA disc is still in print, so I don't think WB have lost the physical rights to these Largo titles. It may be that SF have only been able to get the streaming rights to the Largo titles, but even so, with them licencing from WB it's quite possible they could acquire these titles for physical release anyway.

Certainly you are aware of the glaring difference between small, independently owned boutique shops who ship every single one of those orders with their own staff versus large companies who outsource their warehousing and order fulfillment?

Looks like Eureka is going after the Jet Li films now. Would love to see a Jet Li set similar to the Jackie Chan ones at some point.

New site exclusive John Carpenter Vinyl edition just added

Quote:
Special Offer: Order from ShoutFactory.com and receive a LIMITED EDITION slipmat. This EXCLUSIVE "Prince of Darkness" yellow, blue, and white twister vinyl variant is a limited edition of 1,000 units.
Quote:
By now everyone should know, John Carpenter is not only a celebrated filmmaker but also a musical maestro whose soundtracks have become synonymous with the genres of horror, suspense, and science fiction. His innate talent for composition and his deep understanding of how music can elevate storytelling have left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, and a haunting presence in people's record collections.

Anthology II continues the celebration of his compositional genius via an excellently sequenced collection of some of his most iconic pieces of music from his extensive filmography, all newly recorded with his musical collaborators Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter.

The compilation opens with "Chariots of Pumpkins" from Halloween III that perfectly captures the eerie essence of the cult classic film with its pulsating synths and haunting melodies. The listener is engulfed by a sense of unease and anticipation, before being thrust into "69th St. Bridge" from Escape From New York, a dynamic track that encapsulates the futuristic and gritty nature of the film via the use of throbbing bass lines, driving rhythms, and electronic textures. The record has also an isolating tone as it skulks through ambient leaning tracks such as "Fuchs" and "To Mac's Shack" from The Thing, and "Walk to the Lighthouse" from The Fog, all of which display a slower tempo, foreboding undertones and an ethereal atmosphere that feels like a distant whisper. All of which has been cautiously laid in preparation to the grand finale. The iconic and instantly recognizable "Laurie's Theme" from the original Halloween. Its simple yet menacing piano melody which has become synonymous with the horror genre, concludes the album by striking fear into the hearts of listeners.

These tracks represent just a fraction of John Carpenter's impressive musical repertoire. With each haunting note and pulsating beat, his soundtracks continue to resonate with audiences, forever etching his name in the annals of film music history.

TRACK LISTING:

1. Chariots of Pumpkins (Halloween III)
2. 69th St. Bridge (Escape from New York)

I haven't had too much luck finding leaks yet. I have a few possibilities, but very speculative (more than usual at least). I could make a post about it a little later.

Initially I was pretty sure it was Shout that had A Simple Plan, but starting to think it might be Arrow. That's what I'm really hoping for every single month.

So, as I said above, I really haven't had a lot of luck finding concrete leaks yet. A lot of times, I just stumble on something at Bullmoose, and then find pages close by that seem to corroborate it. I think Bullmoose may have smartened up, as I noticed their Shout's product pages for October were more scattered around than past months.

So with that said, please do not consider these as possible releases yet. I know I say something like that every time I post something, and most of them turn out correct, but I mean it this time ..I am probably reaching with most of these.

Silver Bullet 4K - So I found a random Silver Bullet page that was very close to an October SF page. Could be just a coincidence, but I don't see why it would be among new pages otherwise.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4K (2003)? - I keep seeing something for Texas Chain Saw Massacre show up at BM. I've been waiting to see if MPI are going to put out some new re-release of the 1974 film, but so far there's been nothing. So, it leaves me to speculate the possibility that it's for the 2003 film, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and is with Warner, so SF could probably license it for 4K.

Death Wish 3 4K?? - I brought this up in a Death Wish thread recently, mentioning that I kept seeing something Death Wish related possibly coming out. I couldn't figure out what it was, but BarnDoor mentioned the possibility of a Death Wish 3 4K release, similar to how SF released Rollerball 4K, while Scorpion had the BD rights still. It would seem kind of random to just release DW3, but the first 2 already have 4K releases, and Kino just announced 4 and 5 for BD, so it's really the only one that seems possible for 4K, if something is in fact even coming out.

Fargo 4K - Close the the Death Wish page was a page for Fargo. This title leaked out ages ago now, but so far has yet to be announced, so could November finally be the month?

(There was also that random It page that was in between other sf pages months back, which hasn't materialized into anything yet.)

And that's about it. I would advise anyone not to be disappointed by this, or get their hopes up, as there's almost certainly going to be more, and/or completely different titles announced too. I've heard of one or two other possibilities (not Scream), but I'm not at liberty to say. I am also hoping we see a few more Warner Archive DVD titles get licensed too.

After last months's leaks, I also decided to not spend as much time looking as other months. There's tens of thousands of pages to sift through between the months, and while I'm not going through every single one, it still can be pretty tedious work (). Some months I just get more lucky than others (that's what she said). Anyway, if I do find anything more solid, I'll post it.
