Is Abraxas sold out via Shout? Diabolik is hawking copies for $36.99. Who in their right mind would pay that unless it's completely OOP lol

SF only ships the title to the US, while Diabolik ships internationally, so some rely on Diabolik for those site exclusives.

International customers. Believe it or not, people from other countries like movies too

If their counter is right, they've only sold 295 out of 1500 of em. Not sure why Diabolik brought some of the exclusives in~guessing for people who just want to add to an order...?

Irrelevant to the price of the item, which was his point. Stop trying to make it an issue. The price of the item has no correlation to the places DiabolikDVD ships to, because there are lots of US only titles that don't have prices marked that high.

It’s not irrelevant. International customers would pay more for the titles through Diabolik because it’s still the most affordable option for them, even at $36.99. If Jesse is buying these from SF’s site, it’s not really much of a mark-up and I’d be surprised if he’s making much, if any, money from these after credit card processing fees and such. He’s offering a good service to international customers who can’t get these elsewhere and you guys want to make it a bad thing, because it’s not Blu-ray.com without the needless negativity

It's only $7 more than what Shout is charging (before shipping). They probably ordered a few copies at retail instead of wholesale to help international customers get a copy. The extra $7 is probably the usual percentage they get in profit per item.

I think the real issue is that $30 is too much for a movie like Abraxas.

Is that why when a user asked a question, you responded with an eye roll and make a snide comment about there being other countries, as if the user didn't know that? But please, tell me how I'm being negative.

Relax. Go out and get some fresh air or something - nobody is being negative. I simply forgot about Shout not shipping overseas. I swear some people just LOVE to pick fights. And it always seems to be the newbies

I think it's weird that they don't stock The Evil That Men Do. US only on Shout's site. I'd buy that up in a heartbeat if Diabolik stocked it.

I found two more random listings among newer Bullmoose pages. They may not mean anything. One was for some random Sonny Chiba Karate Warriors DVD release, and another for a "Ginger Snaps Trilogy" release a couple pages before that. There were a bunch of other random movies in this area too, which I don't imagine are SF releases, but these two kind of stuck out a little more.

Maybe a second Sonny Chiba collection is on the cards?

I'd love to see SF do the Ginger Snaps trilogy, but last I heard the second and third films were with Lionsgate. Is there any suggestion they've lost the rights? If not, maybe it's just a 4K upgrade of the first film.

Yeah, those "placeholder" pages don't always translate to what they mention, so if SF is releasing something, it's probably there just for the first movie in 4K.

I spent over 200 dollars on their shout select sale.
Both jackie chan sets had severe scratches. I e-mailed on the 16th and have yet to get a response.
[Show spoiler]Are they that backed up? Usually I get a response within a few days.
It's one thing that literally every order from them lately has discs that look like they were dragged on concrete, but now they seem like they aren't even going to deal with it.
I'm getting better with scratches, I even made sure to measure them to see if they qualify for replacement. These scratches go the length of the disc from hub to end...I'd say those meet their guidelines.
If they are getting annoyed with the customers complaining about scratches, maybe all the companies need to go down to this plant and inquire about WTF is going on.
I'd imagine that all of the companies are losing a ton of money in scratched disc returns.

I love the restorations and titles that Shout puts out, but why is it their discs that seem to be the worst? Does this pressing plant really dislike them?
I used to look forward to getting new titles in the mail, but I feel that now it just seems tense and stressful as now who knows if the discs will even be playable.

Has anyone else lately had trouble with getting a response?

Thank you! I had no idea where I will find the US Only site exclusives, aside from eBay resellers.

Got my Chucky Set in

Interesting Note: The Bride 4K disc is spotless yet is it still encountered freezing issues.

I checked the disc under a really bright light and there were no scratches at all.
My 4K player is up to date so what else is causing this issue?

Anyone here experienced something similar?

That's actually normal for 4k discs. Take a soft cloth (or a t-shirt, it honestly doesn't matter despite what some will have you believe) and wipe the disc down and then try playing it again.

The outgassing/manufacturing process often leaves a fine film on the disc that impacts the players ability to play. One quick wipe down more often than not takes care of the issue.

Congrats on a scratch free disk!

Thanks for the tip!, after a little cleaning, the disc played nicely (with the exception of a tiny hiccup).

I hope Scream Factory can get Friday The 13th remake and the Nightmare remake as well on 4K. Also would love the whole Nightmare set to be released on 4K as well
