These new interviews do nothing for me and i'll never watch them. Long gone are the good old days of Shout special features where we would get a good documentary or Sean Clark's Horror's Hallowed Grounds.

Sean still produces HHG episodes almost monthly for his YT channel. He said Scream just stopped contacting him for content right after the pandemic a few years back. Seems they really like Justin Beahm & his Reverend company who’ve been behind most of the standard interviews that Scream & Shout like to include on their recent releases.

Yeah i know about Sean's YT channel, just venting about underwhelming special features from Shout.

Forgive me for being so late to the party, but Bryan Cranston taking the time to be interviewed about his experience as a production assistant on Alligator might make him the coolest celebrity ever. That extra is a total delight.

Meh Of all the UHD's I own I think I've had the player lockup/freeze maybe twice ever while watching a move. I've had a higher number of Blu Rays outright fail due to disc rot at this point. Me pre-emptively wiping down the disc prior to playing the disc isn't even something a pay attention to at this point.

I don't feel the need to buy everything (or even most things) on 4k if I'm being honest, but that has to do with cost more than anything else.

Wiped the disc down quickly, fired it back up a chapter back in the film and it played without issues the rest of the way. I wouldn't be shocked if this was a recurring problem even with older discs when the cases look as gassed up and hazy as this one did. Thankfully, a bit or pre-planning by wiping the disc off prior to starting the film will hopefully take care of the issue in most cases.
I’ve had cases look like that as well. No problems so far though with play back.

Ne’er had a VHS fail. Though quite a few were eaten alive by faulty VCRs. RIP.

Why back in my day we scratched our own physical media!

I had a VHS of "Night of the Creeps" break in my VCR back when that was a very hard film to find. Fortunately the store I rented it from (shout out to Movie Madness in Portland, OR!) was totally understanding and didn't charge me for it. I think it was even marked as a tape that had an extra-large replacement fee if lost, like $100, which I did not have at the time.

Recently I've had a lot of new DVDs from the library fail. They're not scratched or dirty or anything, they just don't make 'em like they used to and they fail in my player ten minutes or fifty minutes in or whatever. Most of my old DVDs still play just fine. I can't think of any I've had disc rot with. Some that I've bought used have been so scratched they wouldn't play, but mostly I've had good luck with DVDs manufactured between 97 and 2010-ish.

I've only had a couple blu-rays fail. "Stardust" and something else. Although I had to throw away everything but the disc for "Goosebumps" because it got really moldy for some reason. The disc was fine.

Haven't had any 4ks fail, but one or two have frozen up and required me to restart the player. I suppose that could be the player's fault as much as the disc's.

Those double sided DVDs that Universal made for TV shows were the worst idea ever. DVDs were prone to scratches, which rendered them unplayable if they had enough surface damage on them, but those double siders were problematic from the moment you unwrapped the cellophane.

Not beyond the stuff I mentioned before, but I haven't really spent a lot of time since then sifting through Bullmoose's website. Possibly on the weekend or so we may see some leaks sprout up, since announcements should be next week (not sure if it'll be Monday since that's labor day)

And just to recap, these are the titles I speculated on earlier across two posts (which I emphasize are far from certain)

Silver Bullet
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Death Wish 3??
Sonny Chiba release?
Ginger Snaps?
(also a page for Fargo)

The only one I feel more than 50% sure about is Silver Bullet, but sometimes I find a page and it turns out to be for another month, so could be for December.

I'm sure their current batch of special features are cheaper to produce. As with most things in life we wonder about, the reason all comes down to $$$.

I think an Invaders from Mars (1986) UHD would be awesome
