During the climax, there are a few shots of a helicopter, which I think is supposed to be a police 'copter, or maybe a medical helicopter, approaching the summer camp. Presumably, some of the surviving campers got in touch with the police after the raft massacre (though the film never spells this out - you just see a few shots of the helicopter, and that's it). I'm thinking that there may have been a scene of the cops arriving and helping the survivors that was cut.

The movie didn't need it, though. It has a pretty great ending of

which fades into a scene of an unrelated group of campers sitting around a campfire, telling the story of Cropsey again. The story becomes a campfire tale.

This may not mean anything, but I noticed a page on Bullmoose for The Beast (1996) near some other potential SF leaks I mentioned earlier. Thought it was kind of random for it to be listed there. I don't know if SF is planning a new BD release of it or not, but figured I'd mention it. It could also be for some other Beast movie.

I finally got a scratched disc after about 11 years of ordering Scream Factory discs. So I can join the club now.

That would be good if it's true. The original DVD had the full broadcast version of the mini-series while the Blu apparently had a slightly extended version. And the Blu has been OOP for a long time now.

You can add me to the list. I've upgraded 7 titles from Shout over the past couple years and all of them needed replacements. I'm not talking about a small minor scratch either, these were all large scratches from the center to outer part of the discs. I don't care if it affects playback or not, for the prices we pay for these releases they shouldn't have these issues.

The PQ on the ‘My Bloody Valentine’ 4K is absolutely extraordinary, it looks like a brand new movie, even compared to the last BluRay release. Amazing stuff. I really hope they get the OCN if they are doing ‘Point Break (1991)’ and they get Kathryn Bigelow in for a commentary track.

Before Shout! acquired Roger Corman's New Horizons, Carnosaur was reportedly sold off to Charles Band.

I can't confirm, but I did hear it on these boards from somebody who seems knowledgeable.

I wonder what Scream Factory could do if they were to do a 2023 New 4K restoration of ‘Evil Dead 2 (1987)’ from the OCN. I for some reason feel that movie could look even better if it was to be resorted using the current tech and processes they’re using for the new 4K masters.

The 4K scan already looks good. I would like to get the original audio.

The master is over 4 years old though, I wonder what SF could do with their current codecs and software, I’m convinced they could take the PQ of that movie to a whole new level if they used the process they currently do on their 4K masters.

Probably not much.

What was changed from original audio?

Not sure about the exact changes, but still like to have the OG audio (ditto for The Evil Dead).

This is just my opinion, but the current master has that UHD look of before the technology was really figured out properly. The UHDs that have been released in the last year look way better than the ones released before that. There is just a fluency and flow to the image compared to older releases, and also the colours really pop. The older releases feel like they can barely hold all the data together in the image. Just my opinion.

It could use a better encode.
