Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

For some reason, I didn't quite juggle my finances perfectly last Shocktober sale and I don't think I ended up getting anything from Shout. I felt pretty bad about it actually. Decided to place a big order today, somewhat impulsively, but I was able to afford it. Managed to snag a lot of 4Ks from my wish-list and some site exclusives, too.

I know the prices on some titles are $1 or so higher than last Shocktober sale but last sale shipping estimates were at over a month wait times, right? This time things are shipping from Shout right away. So at least those logistics have been improved. People can get these before Halloween in case they want to watch some of them soon.

So what does shipping run for non $100+ orders? Is it reasonable this year on a per title basis? I don't have enough wants to hit $100 but would like to pick up a few titles... but if shipping is going to run something like $10 for 3 films I'd be better off just using Amazon and waiting for prices to hit leves close to the sale amount (which at least 2 of my wants have in recent months).

Yeah, every title I looked at was cheaper off Amazon (assuming I didn't buy enough to hit the free shipping threshold). It's decent if you want some of the really old titles like Ginger Snaps or Sleepaway Camp. But I think many of them are likely to get upgraded soon.

What? Amazon pricing has been horrendous lately on Shout! titles and most sellers don't have free shipping.

So perhaps I missed this having been mentioned over the last few weeks, but it appears that order histories have finally been re-added to Shout's website. All of mine, going all the way back to 2013 have been re-added

It looks like they've been added by hand strangely enough as at least 1 from 2019 is out of order and appears before one from 2018. I'm sure they weren't actually added by hand, but whatever process they used does appear to have some "by hand" features.

The usual $50 free shipping threshold still seems to be in place. That makes these prices even better for me as hitting that amount will be a snap.

There's no way of knowing with Shout Factory sales. Some will come with slipcovers and others will not.

The only real way to guarantee a slipcover is to buy it day-one (or closely to day-one within the first three months) or pay extra elsewhere.

For titles older than 3 months, I’m under the impression that if it comes with a poster or other gift, it still has the slip. Older than 3 months without a gift it’s a gamble.

I'll be absolutely floored if either of the 4k Collectors editions I bought come with Slips. I'm not too tore up about it as I did get better prices, but I'll keep a small sliver of hope that perhaps one will somehow show up with one.

Yeah I wouldn't hold my breath on those, though I do feel you are in a better position than I am. I picked up Candyman and Exorcist III.
