I wonder what that means for the existing Sony 4K releases. Will they eventually go OOP?

I just want to see The Dark Crystal show on Blu-ray. It was so good, and shame we only got one season.

Would Fraggle Rock be included in that? I'd love to get another blu-ray release of that since I missed the first.

Would love The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance to get a home video release!

Also, maybe a chance for a Dinosaurs Blu?

I wonder if there's any overseas labels that can release The Velvet Vampire...

Are the Corman rights held worldwide by Shout? I know 101 did their own Deathstalker double but haven't seen many other Corman overseas releases than that.

Absolutely love Velvet Vampire and would love to own it in HD. Really annoying that one was limited to 1,000...

Especially since it's received some more praise after having a spot on the Criterion channel for a bit.

Are the Sony 4k releases bad or good? Only asking what’s the point of buying the rights and doing a 4k release unless the previous release was bad

I see Amazon updated the The Ring 4k Collection release date to 3/19. What was the reason why it needed to be delayed again

Maybe we'll finally get Follow That Bird (1985) in something more than an old DVD...

Just watched both recently and thought they looked pretty good. No issues that would make me interested in up grading.

I got them cheap from Hamilton Book ($7.95), so maybe they're already being clearanced.

(I quite enjoyed Labyrinth; Dark Crystal had a rather poor script however that I couldn't get past, although some of the jungle flora and fauna were awesome.)

Physical UHD releases are unlikely to be the driving force of the agreement. I assume there'll be something, but that's been pretty well mined, so I'm sure expectations are modest there. There are more opportunities in the digital space.

Shout! Studios is planning an extensive rollout of the films and associated content, beginning with the digital release of Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal across all major digital entertainment platforms on February 6th.

The announcement from back in November:

Quote:
We're writing to let you know about an update to one of your recent orders.

The Ring Collection will now be releasing on 03/19/2024 instead of 12/12/23, providing additional time to the restoration team to create the best possible brand-new 4K transfer of The Ring (2002), as supervised by Director Gore Verbinski.

We apologize for this unforeseen delay.

I truly hope so. One of the best shows to air on Netflix, yet cancelled.

I could be wrong, but I think Dinosaurs is with Disney. It's on Disney Plus, at least. I would love to see it get a blu release though. I used to watch that show all the time, and I bet my boys would dig it in a couple years.

Perhaps Scream Factory will look into releasing these Hammer Films:

Four-Sided Triangle (1953)
Spaceways (1953)
The Men of Sherwood Forest (1954)
Hell Is A City (1960)
Hysteria (1965)
She (1965)
The Nanny (1965)
The Anniversary (1968)
Moon Zero Two (1969)
Crescendo (1970)
The Lady Vanishes (1979)

on blu-ray.

Does this include the '90s version of Roald Dahl's The Witches? That was a Jim Henson production, right?

Would love to see that come to 4K.
