I order from Amazon all the time but found this a little funny. I've seen so many posts where members slam Amazon and say never to order from them.

It's a catch 22.

Amazon is FAR from perfect and horrible packaging aside, they're fine. They package stuff horribly, but they also have the best return policy/process in the industry.

I know a lot of people hate them, just like Walmart, because BIG COMPANY BAD, but they serve a purpose. Of course they underpay their staff, not saying it's right, but nearly every company if they reach that size would do it, and all the boutques we all love, would do the exact same thing if they reached that size. EVERYONE wants to mazimize profits. Not saying it's right, it's just the way it goes.

Any product I've EVER had an issue with, Amazon has done an exchange or refund with NO issues at all. 3 clicks and my return is started and ready to go. Drop it off my on my way home, and done and done, refund processed or exchange shipped.

Trust Pilot is the only thing they seem respond to promptly. Leave them a one-star review if you want to get a quick response. But yeah if you curse them out bad things will happen to you so be respectful.

They are truly a wretched enterprise.
How are you stealth banned? When you make an order what happens?

....and that return is shrink-wrapped and sold to the next sucker, round and round it goes until some sucker gives up and just accepts it.

Meanwhile a federal lawsuit is pending against Amazon for price gouging. Use camelcamelcamel to review their historical pricing to see what's going on (disguised by their constant automated lowering and raising of prices). One of the charges is that they pressure their suppliers not to undersell them.

Odds are high that I'm likely to receive someone's re-wrapped return in poor condition if I buy from Amazon so they're out for me as far as Shout titles. That and the fact they use jiffy bags to ship stuff.

I have a strange feeling Shout are on their way out. The declining CS and choice of titles are telltale signs. They're not doing much with the Corman catalog, they're doing nothing with Timeless Media (titles which include some of the Howling sequels), they're doing very little with the ITC stuff - all catalogs they purportedly own. And their two main "cheerleaders" at the label, Jeff Nelson and Cliff, are gone. Are they the next Anchor Bay?

Plus, you can hang on to the old copy so that if, for example, the new copy has a pristine disc but ripped cover art, you can cobble together a good copy and send the "bad one" back.

Well, as I said before this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will never order SF product from any shop again, unless it is opened / used so I can see the discs before I purchase them. I have given them the benefit of doubt more than a few times, but I am done with that now. I will admit it'll be frustrating not to own some of my favorites in UHD, but it is what it is.

You see, I could have done this. I could have also lied and told them one or two releases were missing from the box. Hell I could have told them the pins were missing. Would it really have made any difference? I was honest, and I was friendly and respectful throughout this entire ordeal, and they still wouldn't budge on the two (really 4) remaining discs that are scratched up. They went against their own policy, so it is quite clear to me that no matter what I'd have said, they would not have given a damn anyway.

That's the thing, I haven't cussed them out and I won't cuss them out. Frankly, I don't believe I could have been any friendlier and any less confrontational. I will try to call them, and if that doesn't work I will go to Trust Pilot.

It's funny, isn't it? I've purchased a few SF releases during Amazon's occasional Daily Deals or SF sales, and out of the 6 or so I purchased I had to return 5 of them because they were both used and resealed, and contained scratched discs.

EDIT: I called that number and it's a voicemail system that states I can leave a message and they'll get back to me within 45 days.

I'll definitely be waiting for Amazon on this one. A multi-disc set from Shout means high chance of floaters and scratches.

Wow! you got one of those rare LWE (Limited Warped Edition)! they go for big bucks on ebay!

ok...maybe not.... could it just be the cover art was not placed in the case correctly?

I took the weekend to think about this, and I finally replied to their last email. Whatever they'll decide to do now, I'll just take it as it is. I will be leaving a comment on Trust Pilot, and it'll be interesting to see how they'll attempt to spin it in their favor.

Wow that's not OK what the heck happened while this shipped? And it looks so warped and crooked and the cover art looks off too like it's falling out of the outside of the case if I had an order come in like this I would return it immediately.

Did anyone accidentally receive a copy of Lords of the Deep by any chance? I ordered it last week but was sent a copy of the Collector's Edition of Road Games for some reason.

Sent Shout! a message but hoping someone in here got my movie by accident so we could arrange a trade to get our rightful orders in our hands.

I got my first order in today. I opened up all 6 movies immediately (usually I’ll leave them sealed until I get around to watching them). Thankfully (knocks on wood) all the discs were scratch free. Hoping when my second order arrives it’ll be fine as well. It’s sad that we have to hope to get scratch free discs when buying SF releases brand new.

My copy of Darkman had a couple of almost invisible hairline marks from the outer edge in - very small and very light. I've been lucky so far so I don't want to jinx it. No plans on asking for replacements unless the scratches are long and deep.

They sent the wrong movie. Wow that's low even for them. RIP quality control.

From what i've heard they are doing nothing with the Timeless Media and ITC films because they can't find any film elements to make HD masters for those films. They only just recently (about a year ago) found film negatives for the 90s Roger Corman films.

In my TrustPilot review, my tone was discernibly frustrated, but nonetheless civil. I summarized my poor experience in receiving multiple damaged slipcovers when ordering their site-exclusive poster editions--as the poster tube had often bludgeoned in transit the unprotected and unsecured movie in the poster-accommodating oversized boxes they use--and implored them to do better by their customers by actually wrapping the movies in the Shout!-branded packing paper they already include and lay uselessly flat at the base of the poster-edition packaging.

Such profane critique was apparently enough to necessitate a lifetime webstore-ban.

I attempted to order the Unlawful Entry Shout!-exclusive disc prior to its initial sellout, and each order I placed was canceled and refunded within moments of my completing the transaction, due to "unforeseen circumstances."

When viewing the canceled orders in my Shout! account's order history, the cancellation reason is erroneously stated as "fraud," although I'd used the same payment method to check out that I'd used for years on the site.

Needless to say, Shout! communicated nothing to me regarding a ban, through TrustPilot or directly via email.
