They should be ashamed. It's not exactly asking a lot for them to ship their items in boxes. Other small retailers figure it out.

I'd be willing to pay extra to have stuff shipped in a box. Instead of that garbage "Route protection" for a $1, give me an option for a box for $2 or $2.50. I'd do that on EVERY SINGLE ORDER. That's what Limited Run Games offers and I use it every time.

As of 9 p.m. Eastern Time, Killer Klowns Steelbook is down to 80 copies left. I bought #81 minutes after seeing the announcement on Instagram (I never look at Instagram, but I followed a random link to it from a Friday the 13th fansite... I've bought so much stuff from Scream/Shout, an email announcement would be nice.

They've been putting them up in waves. It was sold out earlier this week on at least 2 different occassions when I checked but keeps popping back up. Others have speculated that it has something to do with the included posters. I just assume they are doing these smaller listings as a means of screwing with peoples fomo. It's a page straight out of Bill's playbook to encourage people to buy right away or fear missing out forever.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the poster sell out in the next few days, but It's hard for me to imagine why the steelbook itself wouldn't continually be available for purchase if that's the version that continues to sell quickly on the website.

By putting up limited numbers at a time, it's also impossible for any of us at home to know how many they are selling and so should they ever decide to announce that a release is limited to say 2000 copies but then realize that selling 3000 is easily feasible, there would be no easy way for us to know that the run was quietly increased.

That all said, my local wal-mart which never has poop for movies has a nice steelbook section at the moment. Army of Darkness, and Carrie on 4k are going for $19.99. Creepshow on 4k is selling for $30. There are other steels as well from Lionsgate and Universal mixed into the bunch. The Scream Factory stuff was the most noteworthy but I think I liked the look of the American Psycho steel book the most. I'm not a steelbook collector though and so outside of the 4k savings, the steelbooks don't do much for me.

Since ‘Surviving the Game’ is New Line, does that mean ‘The Hidden (1987)’ and the Elm Street 4K BoxSet is now a possibility for SF?

They've been doing New Line titles since 2018. The Hidden could happen, but Elm is unlikely.

I didn’t realise Critters was New Line, very surprising they haven’t done The Hidden, which was released by WB. Confusing…

At least the ones available on Blu-ray from Archive. Archive titles on DVD appear to be fair game. I just gave their Irwin Allen set a spin last week, it's great to see those titles in HD.

Not sure if you're aware, but Warner Archive already released The Hidden

Criterion released Love and Basketball.

These titles were not released by WAC on DVD at all only New Line released them on DVD so I think these might get Blu Rays from Shout at some point. Minus Love and Basketball which was released on Blu Ray by Criterion most of these titles don't have Blu Rays yet and are all completely on the table.
