It's old, dating all the way back to 2007 upon the original theatrical release, but...

It's also a Sony Pictures release which means that it's pretty cheap, has good audio/picture quality, and even if it was released by Scream Factory or another distributor, the master would only be whatever Sony provides as they do not allow for boutique labels to create new scans/masters.

Yeah, I was aware of that one but it's out of print. Only occasionally do I see the UK import pop up occasionally.

The other releases were the crappy releases where they combine that movie with like two other ones.

Sony licensed the DVD and Blu-ray rights to Mill Creek. Sony could release a 4K themselves like they did with I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Karate Kid Part III. But since Hollow Man and I Know got new discs from MC, chances are Vacancy got renewed too.

Hopefully. Even Vacancy 2 was kind of fun as well.

You know, with Scream Factory doing a lot of 4K re-releases, I hope they pick Teen Wolf down the line sometime.

The only new additions they could add are the TV scenes if they can get them this time & TV Spots.

However, the main reason why it would be neat for them to do a 4K release, is because it would give them an opportunity to include this directors commentary that was recorded after the Blu-ray came out, and before the Director passed away.

I found it on YouTube and saved it to a playlist and wanted to share it here for those who didn't know about it.

They CAN be up front with us.

I find it kind of funny that while we are getting FOUR commentaries, having them all from critic's and nobody involved with actually making the film makes me laugh a little bit.

I am sure this has been brought up to death, but have we really not heard or had any kind of update on the release of THE FACULTY at all? I mean, now that I think about it was there ever an official release for it announced by Scream ever?

Thank you, everyone!

Not announced yet. It's either delayed or cancelled. There are other titles like this that have leaked out to retailers, but didn't come out for a long time after. Stuff like Fargo 4K, and Jennifer 8 for example. I imagine it's still coming.

Never thought of that. Hopefully we do, the extras on that one are pretty lacking.

Delving into The Omen Collection box set at long last in anticipation for the new movie coming out tomorrow.

When Robert Thorn, an American diplomat played by Gregory Peck, is told by the chaplain of a Rome hospital that his wife, played by Lee Remick, has given birth to a stillborn child, he reluctantly goes along with the priest's suggestion to adopt a different baby that was born at the same moment and whose mother died in childbirth, all the while keeping the switch a secret from his wife. Shortly after Robert and his family relocate to London when he is named Ambassador to the United Kingdom, gruesome events begin to befall them, all them strangely centered around his son, Damien. He will soon learn the terrifying truth, that his secretly adopted child is actually the spawn of Satan.

The 1976 supernatural horror film, The Omen, directed by Richard Donner, captures my imagination because of the way that each and every unfortunate happening in the story can be dismissed as pure coincidence. The ambiguity adds to the unsettling aura, especially in this day and age when our beliefs can make us susceptible to manipulation by nefarious entities. The end result presents a disturbing meditation on faith and superstitions. Of course, one look at Damien himself, played by Harvey Stephens, is enough to cue us in to the fact that he is not a pleasant child.

I have always thought of The Omen as a pulpy popcorn movie compared to its two classic occult-themed cinema predecessors, Rosemary's Baby (1968) and The Exorcist (1973), but I still love the way that the main players, Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, Harvey Stephens, David Warner, and Billie Whitelaw, all play it straight and sell the concept in full.

This film is graced by several amazing death scenes. A late sequence decapitation is the most famous moment, but I am most haunted by the early fate of a young woman. “Look at me, Damien! It's all for you.”

I bought The Omen Collection when it was first released, but now is a great time to plow through it at long last.

Did shout do a 4k of the original Mad Max? I don't see it on their site anymore. Or was it a different company?

always enjoy your reviews OWL--

funny about THE OMEN, I was just talking to my best friend the other day and we were discussing how the film doesn't seem to get the same respect as other horror classics like THE EXORCIST and others. When it came out it was a BIG deal and a BIG hit and it's among my favorite genre films of all time. I consider it equal to the quality of the film just mentioned, and better than ROSEMARY'S BABY. The cast is top notch, as is the direction, photography, and music score.

Hoping for a 4k release some day....
