The movie, especially the first two, are objectively seminal movies of the 1980’s, there is on no legitimate reason to obstruct their release in a new home video format.

Warner will most likely release the first film this year for the 40th anniversary.

It’s actually ‘Warner Bros Discovery’?

That's correct. Warner is an AOL company.

I know it's been said that Warner won't license the Elm Street property but that could change with a management shift and there's a lot of that going on across the industry. Another possible roadblock are rights disputes and litigation. None of us really know what's happening behind the scenes so we can't say "it ain't gonna happen". Studios are farming out pretty much everything these days except for the most prestigious A list stuff.

Warner is WarnerBros Discovery… AOL was purchased several years ago, at least according to what I googled. I would contact individual board members and let them know there was an interest in the property, at least if someone was blocking it for no reason given.

Now that Cliff and Jeff are both gone from Scream Factory for some time now, does anyone here know who makes the big decisions (i.e. acquisitions, production, etc.) there now?

Magic 8 Ball? Shout employee: “Should we release the Poltergeist remake in 4K?” Magic 8 Ball: “Better not tell you now.” Shout employee: “Give that ball a raise!”

I'm curious to see if Cliff's departure marks the end of WB titles from Shout/Scream. I assume they still have unreleased titles from the previous deals, but will there be any new deals in the future?

I just got an email from Shout saying that my order of the Killer Klowns 4K has shipped (its in the "Label Created, not yet in system" phase right now.) Do they usually ship pre-orders this early? As I've mentioned before, this is my first pre-order directly from them, so I wasn't sure what exactly to expect, like it shipping this early.

Edit: USPS just updated the tracking and its expected to get here on May 1st. Thirteen days early!

Seeing their recent pattern of doing remake 4Ks, I've got a hunch that they'll do the Firestarter Remake.

They announce releases at the start of the month like the other Blu companies?

Did you order the standard edition? I got the standard with exclusive slip, I would freak out if I could get it early, it's probably my most anticipated 4k disc release since coraline and child's play in 2022

Don't see that selling much. It was pretty awful, but I'm sure people would buy it just to have it on 4k.

oh definitely can’t disagree with you there.
Given the fact that they gave that Winnie the Pooh movie blood and Honey a Blu-ray and a separate steelbook edition, it shows that there’s an audience for basically everything.

Hills Have Eyes remake from 2006, and chainsaw massacre remake from 2003 would not only benefit from a 4k master, but be huge breadwinners with a 4k release. Surprised no one's gotten to it.

They usually do ship 1 to 2 weeks early on preorders. My copy of Orphan, which also has the same release date of May 14, has already shipped and it's scheduled to arrive on Monday. I have Killer Klowns From Outer Space with the exclusive poster along with Dracula 2000 on the same order, but it doesn't look like either of them have shipped yet.

That release came 8 years ago. At the time of release it used a dated master. Not sure what point your trying to make posting about it now.

This thread has devolved into a mess of negativity as of late. Scream Factory has it's faults for sure (Scratched discs being the most obvious issue) but some of ya'll seem to have made it a personal vendetta to complain about everything they do.
