I am happy with the 4K masters we are getting but I feel a year ago we always got 4-5 NEW titles a month and now I feel like we are getting 1-2 and the rest are 4K transfers. Do you think this will be the new normal now?

Honestly, yeah I can see it. It's easier for them to do 4K reissues.

Wonder if Scream will release Witchfinder General on 4K. Looks like the one released in the UK has a pretty nice transfer.

- not only is the negative for the film lost, but the interpositive they used for the blu-ray is now lost as well. Keep those blu-rays fellas.

Some great behind the scenes info in that video. It's a shame their sales department didn't renew those MGM deals. They definitely would have made a boatload of money with 4Ks of Roadhouse, Mad Max, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and others.

Interesting to hear why he left SF for Arrow. It appears the workload at SF was a major factor there, as they had him doing transfer work, producing extras, and more in addition to acquisitions. With Arrow, he's just doing acquisitions (but also some minimal extras production work now too)

It’s plausible.

I don’t think the boutique labels keep the reels that they’re given to do the transfers right?
don’t they just do the scans, put them on the disc and then send those negatives or whatever materials they get back to the supplier?

if that’s the case, then someone on that end screwed up and lost it.
if anyone has insight on how that stuff works please let me know. I’d be very curious to find out how the stuff works.

It was mentioned in a podcast wayyy back in 2017 and Shout tried twice to get them. The jist of it was because Fox thought they were still too recent and popular they did not make them available for licensing.
