Synapse's slate isn't exactly empty... Street Trash, Hands of the Ripper, the 4 Argento titles, Countess Dracula (whenever it happens), and now Basket Case 2-3... they aren't a big company, certainly not as big as Shout/Scream... that is a pretty solid lineup.

Yes, but when will we actually see those titles?

They really spoiled us with the last two year's slates (7 titles apiece)

And no I hadn't heard about the Basket Cases

I think thats a great lineup.Will definatly get Street Trash,HOTRCountess Dracula and may even double-dip on the Argento titles depending on extras.As for scream and arrow,i'd rather they did different titles simply so theres more films coming out though i understand there will be some overlap.It's all good and its a great time to collect horror on blu.

Well, I suggested them as a double, and Brain Damage, and got that email several hours after.

I'd gladly (re-)buy all three

I'm actually kind of surprised they haven't tried to get Brain Damage out already

***BREAKING NEWS!***

Since we started this week with a John Carpenter film announcement (Body Bags) it is fitting with end it with another...The master's 1987 cult classic PRINCE OF DARKNESS - our #1 most requested title - will be coming this fall and presented as a Collector's Edition on DVD and Blu-ray!

We have no more details to report at this time (i.e. street date, extras, etc.) but will reveal more in the next few months. Have a great weekend!

I wouldn't get too excited for Brain Damage or the Basket Case sequels just yet, as there won't be anything until 2014 at the very earliest. I asked them about the former back in January:

So both are 'maybes', and both are next year at the earliest. Again, the Second Sight Basket Case trilogy looks great, has a superb full-length doc, is region-free, and includes the R1 extras from the 1st film, albeit in PAL form which your particular player may or not play.

That's the problem with Universal - they meddle so consistently and intrusively that you never really know what kind of transfer you're getting until reviews/screencaps go up.
