Stepfather 4K UHD is the only one I'm interested in for September it's sad that we'll probably never get the sequels as I'm a big fan of the second one so much. It's such a unique slasher franchise that we just don't see much of these days. Also Terry O Quinn is absolutely terrifying in both the original, and the sequel these films and Blind Fury are my favorite roles of his.

Amityville Horror (superior to the original btw) and Stepfather are sale buys for me down the line. I own neither on anything, have nearly grabbed both previously.
My VOTD blu is just fine...I like the movie but this is one of Carpenter's smallest scope films, just a slice of suburbia, lots of tight interior modest home settings, don't see the value in upgrading.
Doomsday has the Army Of Darkness problem for me. The unrated cut, which is what you'd most want, though getting a new scan, is still only on blu...so it's still only going to look marginally better than the blu I've had for years I paid less than $10 for. Who wants to watch the cut version, but in better quality? Why I never upgraded Army...I don't want to watch the Theatrical, don't care if it's in 4k.

Oh this is the September slate gotcha. I was boutta say they really aren’t even dropping Hush for October come on bruh more than likely is part of the October slate

(this isn’t speculation btw, some 12 year old dumbass who stole a Shout employee’s login info invaded one of our discord servers and dropped a bunch of screenshots from Shout’s internal file system completely unprovoked, two of the titles that stood out were this 4K of Carpenter’s Village and one of Hush. You’re welcome)

With Psycho having it's 65th Anniversary in 2025, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a new 4K UHD in the works that may include a box set of all the sequels as well.

I mean, I'm not overly excited for Scream Factory's latest announcements but I'll still be purchasing 4K UHD upgrades for the following at least:

However, I do feel obligated to ask...

So where are all of the overpriced website exclusive "new to Blu-ray" 1950s horror/sci-fi film releases at, man?!
Some people are dying here...

I'm not sure if the selection is different for others, but for the next week or so, Shout are offering one of these for free with a purchase of $100 or more.

If it’s going to be a boxset with the original film then the sequels will most likely be released by Universal with no extra features like they did with the DVD and BD releases.

I will pick up The Strangers, Village Of The Damned and Doomsday. I loves me some Doomsday and even though I would have prefered the Unrated on UHD at least the BD has been remastered.

I've never seen so much garbage concentrated into one month for Shout (besides The Stepfather). Village of the Damned is the only title released before the 00's? What a waste for my birthday.

I don't own The Stepfather on any format so I'll be picking up the UHD. Thinking on Village of the Damned. It's a terrible movie but it's Carpenter and the previous blu-ray was a DNR nightmare.

Just The Stepfather for me.

I guess Night Of The Creeps will be part of the October announcements...?

The Stepfather was the highlight for me from this slate but I'm a bit surprised by the hate at the slate overall. Have you seen what Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome and Severin have announced lately? In most cases there have been one stand out title at best and a bunch of lower tier releases alongside it. September's Scream Factory slate isn't any worse than most of those of their competitors and arguably may actually be a bit better. Seeing so many titles announced at once on 4k is still a welcome sign, even if the individual titles themselves are more misses than hits.

It's hard for me to cheer on a 4k release of Friday the 13th (2019) and then in the same breath poo poo what Scream Factory has announced here. Are these the titles we really want? No, but they are still welcome 4k upgrades that I'm sure will sell fine. Here's to hoping for that mythical Stepfather 2/3 Blu Ray release at some point.
